The simpsons wiki has a list of the music used in episodes. Perhaps that’ll be of use.
I looked before posting, didin't see it there.
Merry Chriztmaz ya filthy animals!Do you happen to remember any details of when it was shown on the Simpsons? Even just something as simple as whether it was 90s Simpsons or more recently could help narrow it down.
Also, what exactly do you mean in this context by classical music? I'm assuming, based on the style you describe, you're probably not referring to classical in the sense of Mozart. Is it an instrumental piece? Do you have an idea of the decade the song might be from?
Are you sure it was "Gassinover" and not "Casanova"? It's not classical, but I found this 80s song with the same name: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2t_vNkJgelc
I'm sure there's a lot more music that uses that word so perhaps give that a try?
Yo, Ape Account :) I heard it on a classical music station, that's why I only know the name's phonetic sound. The host only said "it appeared on The Simpsons." It is instrumental, with those Carribean oil drum drums and maybe xylophones. I'm not certain on the composer's name (could have been French). Maybe it was used an a vacation episode or one involing Homer, cause it also had an ignorance is bliss vibe. Had a distinct and recognizable melody and tune.

Merry Chriztmaz ya filthy animals!Nothing really springs to mind. The drum made me think of Under the Sea, but that obviously doesn’t match well at all with the name.
On an off chance, The Itchem and Scratchem Blow would seem to match the sort of scene and it did have some background music. However, I think that’s probably just generic background music and not an actual song.
Nope, not it
Merry Chriztmaz ya filthy animals!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQ9_6W6bVoQ How about this? It was used in The Simpsons episode "A Scorpion's Tale".
"You're not as bad as everyone says you are."Yes! A beautiful piece of music. Thank You!

I heard a piece of classical music with a Caribbean, beach-at-sunset vibe. It was used on The Simpsons and the name sounded like "Gassinower." It's apparently well known. Don't fail me, TV Tropes :)
