I don't believe there is an official stance, but active voice would seem to fit better with the breezy language of the wiki. Additionally, in modern discourse, passive voice has been increasingly seen as overly stilted and formal, and even most academic writing guides (APA, MLA, Chicago Manual of Style, etc.) now encourage defaulting to active over passive voice because it's clearer and more concise. But it's not like the wiki is exactly an academic source, anyways.
Edited by CrystalGlacia "Jack, you have debauched my sloth."^ True, and active is overall not as wordy compared to passive.
I concur: active voice is always preferable when talking about actions taken by characters in a work. Also note that we use historical present tense in most contexts.
- Alice elbows Bob on the forehead, in retaliation for when he tripped her last episode.
cool, thanks for clarifying
Does the wiki have strict grammar standards concerning the use of passive and active voice?
e.g.
Passive: "Bob was elbowed on the forehead by Alice."
Active: "Alice elbowed Bob on the forehead."
