The Cinema Snob reviewed a slasher movie a while ago where not only did the killer die and stay dead, you never really found out who he was or why he was killing people. I'm trying to remember and/or find the title.
Edited by EricaBMy bad! Not the Cinema Snob, but Good Bad Flicks!
The movie is Final Exam. The killer is killed without a shadow of doubt, and his motivation was never revealed.

Edited by EricaBThere's also the original Friday the 13th, in which Mrs. Voorhees was quite clearly and graphically decapitated and has remained dead in every subsequent film.
Granted it's been a long time since I've seen it, but I don't remember any "fake death" jumpscares before she was finally killed. Most of the jumpscares in the finale came from the Peekaboo Corpse trope.

Can anyone name some slasher movie(s) where the villain actually dies on the first attempt to kill them? I'm sure there are some but I can't think of any off hand. Even Scream (which was kind of a semi-parody of slasher movies) has the villains survive at first.
