Why does this reek of complaining to me...
We can never truly eradicate the coronavirus, but we can suppress its threat like influenza

On paper yes, that would be Informed Attribute, but I don't think that's an example...from the couple seasons I watched, the series always emphasized her intelligence. Sounds more like Idiot Ball or Jerkass Ball.
Is there a specific trope for when a character is supposed to be smart but their actions fail to back it up? Or is that simply Informed Ability or Informed Attribute?
Example:
My Little Pony: The Movie (2017): At one point, the characters have to get a pearl to defeat the main antagonist. When Novo denies them the pearl to use against the Storm King, main character Twilight desperately attempts to steal it while deceiving her friends into unknowingly distracting the seaponies. Her plan backfires when she unwittingly triggers an alarm, prompting the outraged queen to banish the entire group to the surface. When the others call her out on this, she fails to counter their protests, instead opting to yell at them about how she "doesn't need them" and whatnot like a teenager throwing a temper tantrum because Blizzard banned their World of Warcraft account.
