What do you remember about the show?

Im not sure I understand the situation correctly. You watched a tv show, but you arent sure when you saw it, what it was about, the location of the program's broadcast, or the gender of the main characters? But you listened to this song and knew it was a theme song from the show?

If knowledge is the key, then show me the lock, so I can ask someone to break it.

I'm pretty certain that it is the 1988-1990 War of the Worlds theme music. They had a couple of variation on the themes and they are all on youtube. HTH

A shot in the dark, but the rhythm almost sounds like the opening to Doctor Who.

That's not Doctor Who. It does sound strikingly similar though!

thank you mates, but it´s neither a shot in the dark nor doctor who. The TV series i'm trying to find was either adventure or police/inestigation series around the late 90s to the early 00s. listen carefully, someone must know the title for me.

It sounds a bit like Airwolf.

You might try Carpenter and Post's theme songs shows. Maybe Stingray or Riptide.
