It seems like it could be "Smithsonian's Great Battles of the Civil War" (1994, starring Richard Dreyfuss) or "Civil War Battles" (1987).
It wasn't the one with Richard Dreyfus, although the man could've been his older brother. I tried looking up Civil War Battles and couldn't find anything...
The guy used to wear the same jacket every episode... he used to also talk about slavery, and Native Americans. Low budget show, no reenactments.
I also couldn't find Civil War Battles. What network did your show air on?
Edited by jgrif57003I wish I could tell you... I know it wasn't on ABC, NBC, CBS or Fox. I remember watching wrestling on Saturdays and being stuck with that show because nothing else was on tv...
Pro Wrestling or "real" wrestling? Remember the name of the show?
Edited by jgrif57003It was after WWF Superstars lol.
Seems like it could be "The Divided Union" (1987), which aired on A&E, but there's no jacket guy that I could find in that one. Extra: "God's Frontiersmen" (about the Scotch-Irish) has a guy similar to the man you described, but there are a lot of reenactments.

This was a show on in the late 80's/early 90's about early American History. The host was an older man with a white mustache and a cargo jacket. Most of what I remember was about the Civil War, and they would show drawings or letters and they had people voice over. Not Ken Burns... any help would be greatly appreciated because it's driving me nuts. I believe it was on Saturdays or Sundays...
