L.A. Story (1991) with Steve Martin has freeway traffic signs that display messages that appear to be meant specifically for his character.
It was at night. Jim Carrey did something like that in Bruce Almighty, I do not remember thoughts and interrogations, but he did ask God for signs and a truck appeared with many road signs. Hope that helps.
A tricky one - the only thing i remember about this one is that the character was driving in a car at night, and that instead of the usual stuff you have on traffic signs etc. on the highway, he'd see his thoughts and interrogations...
