I remembered that Fearless featured a plane crashing into a cornfield and on looking that up found it was based on the crash of United Airlines 232 at Sioux City https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Airlines_Flight_232. There was a TV movie about the disaster, A Thousand Heroes. Could that be it?

That's the one! Thanks!
Movie from the 1980's where a plane crashes in a cornfield. Amongst the survivors is one boy, who knows his parents are dead. The focus of the movie is about the rescuers, but it is not a documentary.
