The TVTropes Trope Finder is where you can come to ask questions like "Do we have this one?" and "What's the trope about...?" Trying to rediscover a long lost show or other medium but need a little help? Head to Media Finder and try your luck there. Want to propose a new trope? You should be over at You Know, That Thing Where.
Needs context, there isn't enough to go on.
I wouldn't mind failure so much, if I didn't fail so much.Like you tell somebody that their father/mother would be ashamed of them when they do something wrong.
That's a Stock Phrase, and they're not troped. Just someone telling someone else this, it's too common and not related to the narrative.
If the character themself realizes their parents would be ashamed of them— that could be troped if the character reacts by changing their behavior.
You could see Like Father, Unlike Son, which describes the dynamics between parents and offspring, including when the contrast leads to one being embarrassed or ashamed by the other.
Disappointed in You, lampshaded?
What's the trope for that? Gotta be something.
