Your mama may have had eyes in the back of her head, but our admin team just can't see everything at once. It takes a village to make sure TVTropes is running the way it should, so when it comes to spotting tech snafus, dreaming up a better digital mousetrap, or just diagnosing plain old asshattery, the quicker you let us know something's up, the quicker we can address it. See a bug? Point to it and we'll squash it. Have idea for a new feature? Post in the Tech Wishlist.
NOTE: Do not post duplicate bug queries, please check existing queries to see if your issue has already been reported and then comment on it.
That's not what I'd think as "it's impossible to open and read the note", which is what I was checking.
textnote
Naturally clicking makes it possible to read the note, but I wouldn't think it's a bug because it is clicking on two elements at the same time and I can click outside of the note if I want to toggle them separately.
Well, if it can get extra logic to ignore notes when the text is hidden, and ignore spoilers when clicking on a visible note, it's be a great improvement.
Edited by Amonimus TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupIt took a while to confirm that it does toggle if you click outside the note, as when the text is hidden there's no way to see which text is outside the note.

When a note's within the tagging and the text is revealed (i.e. the note is visible), clicking on it simultaneously expands the note and hides the spoiler - including the note - again.
Clicking on it again makes the text visible but also collapses the note.
The only way to see it at the moment seems to be:
This may be browser-specific: other tropers say it's working fine for them, but I'm seeing it as persistent behaviour in Safari.
Expected behaviour: clicking on the note when the text is visible should expand/collapse it without triggering the spoiler text toggle.
