Courtesy link for another edit with long edit reason.

I believe this is the ATT report you are referring to.

Different one, it's this:

I amended the OP so hopefully it works now. But it's an example that they're an editor with a history of causing issues on the site.

Editor Maryam Rose re-added one of the entries Dragon Master 408 deleted, pointing out how their justification of the deletion stems from an outright misinterpretation of the narrative, and I agree with Maryam Rose's reasoning.

For what it's worth, I have also personally reverted a change Dragon Master 408 has made in the past due to their edit reason for the same reason, that the supposed counterpoint they raised as their edit justification is easily refuted, and which, combined with the previous times they've been reported on ATT, indicate that their edits are consistently causing problems for other tropers.

Speaking of which, Dragon Master 408 is at it again with this unilateral deletion of an edit to What If…? (2021). As someone who does not watch AOS but has some inkling of Maveth, I can confirm that I have indeed seen this reaction from fans of that show, and also that the show's implication of HYDRA's connection to an extraterrestrial life form suggested enough connection to Maveth that even I was curious if they might touch upon it, and therefore it's fair to consider this a plot thread that was sufficiently hinted at for the show to properly waste it, as opposed to just wishful thinking.

Thus, even if Dragon Master 408 doesn't personally agree with it for whatever reason (and their edit reasons, as mentioned above, tend to be lengthy, utilize questionable reasoning, and most problematically of all tend to be highly charged and opinionated), they have no right to remove it just based on opinion alone. This is another example of the same "unilateral deletion of examples held by a large part of the audience due to personal disagreement" issue that I described in the OP.

Is AOS even canon?

Are we sure we want be putting a TWAPG entry on something that isnt even true of the verse.

Plus referencing a totally unrelated show seems kinda a stretch.

Tbh I dont think that is a valid entry.

It's in deuterocanon (canon until proven otherwise) limbo due to some complicated intra-studio politics. Nevertheless, people have talked about it on social media.

You mean Schrödinger's Canon. Dueterocanon is Word of Dante, but other than that yes, I agree with you.

You can only write so much in your forum signature. It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the mid

Acknowledged. At any rate, my point is that while it's not impossible that AOS has been decanonized internally, Feige has been deliberately vague enough on the possibility of AOS still being canon for this reaction to be held a sizeable portion of the audience as opposed to just Fan Dumb. As mentioned earlier, some of the discussion about whether the monster was connected to Maveth or not took place within our own MCU discussion threads, and hell, I was curious about that myself. It's not a fringe connection to have made or subsequently had expectations about.

Anyway, I've PM'd Dragonmaster 408 about this and it's getting heated enough that I may ask them to come here for the sake of keeping things civil. Their logic for deletion is that they think it's wrong for AOS fans to expect any elements to show up in What If because it's never happened in the MCU before and because it would be too confusing to be a good idea (although I think the creators of Loki were asked about questions involving Coulson and did not discount it outright in a way that could be seen as giving AOS fans hope or, if you're cynical, leading them on).

My understanding, as someone who has been pretty harsh in removing "wishful thinking"-type entries from TWAPGP before, is that subjective belief in how justified or unjustified fans are to expect a plot point that doesn't manifest, is less relevant than the existence of the fans' earnest belief that the work was hinting at a plot point that it ultimately didn't deliver on, so long as the narrative introduced a plot point heavily enough for them to have developed expectations based off of it.

E.g. Alice and Bob dug up a pirate treasure chest in their back yard. An old Schrödinger's Canon sidestory discussed a famous pirate who lived in the area. Fans who are upset they never looked inside the chest, hoping for acknowledgment of the above, are a valid TWAPGP. Fans who wish they had spent the day at the park instead of digging for treasure, are not.

Essentially the qualifications for Audience Reactions are based less on "should they have thought this" but rather "did they think this". As far as I've seen on social media and our own MCU threads, people definitely did.
