Doug supposedly posted this on his Facebook. I'm saying "supposedly," since I can't find the original post and the writing style doesn't really seem like Doug's usual style.

This diaspora is going to make for one hell of an episode of Lord Kat Live. Jason's been making fun of Michaud for a few months now (especially over the new website) but I never knew he was such a dick to the contributors. Shame about Rob being an ass too. Really throws all those Heartwarming Moments examples of "Aww he really does love his brother" into a different light.

Anyhoo, not really sure about how much of an ass Rob is, but people usually aren't as friendly to people they don't know that well compared to people they do know :p And he does seem to be personality wise rather sarcastic/snide and stuff judging from vlogs, so I can see how some might not really like that.

Either way, you guys sure are eating this gossip talk much xP You are putting people on pedestal too much

I think it's important to note here that the enemy of my enemy is not my friend, and no matter what's going on with the Channel Awesome management Lord Kat is still an epic douchebag who wished suicide on a guy suffering from depression (and that's just what I remember).

Give me a break, "The enemy of the guys I think are acting like dicks" doesn't have quite the same ring to it heh.

"Enemy" is a bit strong of a word. He mostly just trolls Channel Awesome and mocks them on his stream with things like an all audio parody of Pop Quiz Hotshot.

Y'know what? I'm not going to defend Lord Kat. I've seen just how little he cares about people complaining about him or his behavior. Plus he pretty much is an epic douchebag half the time anyway.

Without going into detail, some stuff that he's said (and apparently hasn't rescinded since) made me uncomfortable enough about him to never want to support his works again. (Not that I really did in the first place, but eh.)

It sure does seem that CA is starting to go through some rough times. Wonder if Doug and Rob's videos will eventually be all that's left there.

Personally I wonder how long this exodus will last

Will more people come in to take the places of those who've left, or will more and more continue to leave?

I'd rather not have only post-revival NC vids on that site.

To be honest, I think it is way too easy to assign "bad guys" and "good guys" labels. Reading through the information provided, this is mostly about money. There are contributers who feel underpaid and underappreciated. It is pretty much impossible to say if they are right, because this is basically media. If a TV-Show doesn't not have the audience it needs to substain itself, it gets cancelled. But if one of those contributers doesn't have the audience they need, or if they are stop posting videos or make half-assed stuff which is only watched because of their name, nothing happens. They just floundering along for a while and eventually start struggling. If I understand the whole thing correctly they are not paid but have to make what they need over their videos. The question is: How much does Channel Awesome profeteer from their presence? Well, they certainly get some cost-free actors for their specials, but nobody is forced to participate in them and take the shitty deal.

Does CA really need all those "guest posters"? If they would, they would certainly more set on keeping them happy. But I suspect that the bulk of the money is still made by Doug himself and a handful of other contributers like Linkara. And everyone else who decides to join the site has to follow the rules. It's a hard reality, and I totally get that those rules suck if you need the money and nobody shows any understanding for the fact that you struggle. There is a big communication problem there, which is not really surprising. If people are working physically apart from each other, conflicts fester, and not party has really a full idea what the other might struggle with. This leads to even more misunderstandings, especially when problems are not communicated immediatly.

Ye, with Michaud apparently being a supreme ass and them not having pr person who interacts with contributor anymore, this seems to be mostly a communication issue.

I mean, Lupa's comment that Doug isn't nice? Thats just being bitter, "nice" is such hard to define term when you think about it :P You can be nice without being kind or charitable for example. You can be nice without being nice to people you don't know. Etc. Yet you people here harp on that since you put people into pedestal and except them to be "good" in abstract divine level...

So yeah, people, stop being viewers to car crash and being like "Will this affect the site? Will this affect the viewers?" etc etc, because it won't really do anything in the end. Site has bad management the end. Some people take it really personally for being treated badly by the supreme asshole. Sure, the producers who feel slighted do have right to be annoyed about the treatment, but viewers taking "sides" for their entertainment is just gross...

If it turns out that a site is mistreating its producers people have a right to express their worry over that and question their continued browsing of the site.

This doesn't really look like planning a boycott to me though :P This looks more like "Ooh, this person has this to say and this person said this" and yadda yadda.
