Doing the Paralogues now between ch. 17 and 18... which is some serious WTF because 17 and 18 are implied to take place on the same day. Freaking Deeprealms, man...
I still don't think the Kids were a bad choice as some people make them out to be, but man does the Deeprealms tests one's level of tolerance.
Personally Genealogy of the Holy War is the only FE game, I think did kids right.
Not into the time travel in Awakening and Fates.
Awakening had it as a pretty awesome story gimmick. Fates just... Dropped the ball really really hard.
It's obvious that the kid mechanic was added because it was popular in Awakening and without any real consideration on how it would be implemented.

I'm not too bothered by the Deeprealms, even if I think the second generation could be implemented better. At least we don't have to worry about the second generation units dealing with boxes that cause rapid aging when opened.
Speaking of second generations, I've started playing Awakening again to get myself used to using breakable weapons. I nearly forgot how quickly Donnel becomes a beast in combat. I've been going through the game slowly, mostly hoping that Anna will pop up with Second Seals for sale.
Eh, Naga being able to time travel didn't really fit, though I guess it makes more sense if you consider Awakening an alternate universe out realm.
After Heroes I do.
Especially since Taguels are a thing.
I originally went with Benny/Elise solely because the size difference was funny, but their support chain is actually really damn sweet and I can honestly say I ship it now.
Wow, I really like that cover art. Can't wait for a wallpaper version of that image to surface.
Elise is basically what Benny would look like if his appearance matched his personality
Song of the SirensBenny is Elise if she ate a mountain.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! He doesn't do that anymore. Not since... The incident.
Good lord, that cover art is absolutely phenomenal.
I wonder if Benny's support were as faithful in the original source. I enjoy the majority of the support Benny has.
Ugh, just screwed up at the last possible second in Forrest's Paralogue. Defeated every enemy but the boss, who is capturable, and is ridiculously strong. Whittled him down, moved Orochi in, and... he dodged and killed her on his counter.
Enemy Fighters and Berserkers are the kings of Fates RNG. I hate seeing their smug faces (even when generic Berserkers wear face-obscuring helmets) getting sub 50% hits nearly all the time.

Get Out of Our Home.Gazzak has an especially-smug face.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!"I'm going to swing my axe for fifty damage in your general direction, and if you get hit, it's your own fault!" -Every end game berserker in Fates.
I have no idea why Gazak is arbitrarily harder than all the other Paralogue bosses. He's got a ranged weapon, he's on a throne, he has absurd speed for his class, and he somehow has skills that Berserkers can't normally learn, including Pavise.
He must've done well on his Brigand exam is all I can say.
Its because he's a reference to the first boss in the series, with his appearance being based on a misinterpretation of the original Gazzak's sprite.
Gazzak also appears in Genealogy of the Holy War.
According to Percy's Paralogue, Gazak does seem to have quite the reputation. So yes, he probably did do very well in his Brigand exam.
Going back to the Genealogy thing for a sec, I love that the evil plan is to breed an overpowered child unit and if they remake it I just hope they work the Deeprealms in there somewhere.
I want an alternate scenario where Deidre recovers her memories during Arvis's epic roast of Sigurd, causing her to flee from Grannvale and go into hiding with Seliph. I don't remember if Julius and Julia were born after Sigurd got scattered into the winds, but if they were, the alternate scenario would feature Seliph, Julia, and an unpossessed-Julius as the Power Trio of the second half of the game.
