Yeah, I recall them being pretty smooth shooting. The 92A1 model has an additional internal recoil buffer unique to that model on top of an action that’s already pretty smooth, so I’m curious how it handles.
Only downside is a lack of holster options for that model, sadly.
They should have sent a poet.My only problem with the Beretta 92 is that it feels way too light for how big it is. I prefer the slim heft of the Colt 1911, even if it is sort of a caveman gun in comparison in many ways.

They should have sent a poet.Yes. That is true even for airsoft replicas, the Osprey is heavy enough to mess with the cycling. This means noticeably lower rate of fire in full auto and increased gas consumption.
"what the complete, unabridged, 4k ultra HD fuck with bonus features" - Mark Von LewisTomorrow I pick up my new AR! (Owing to long backlog in background checks.) I gots me a new Ruger AR-556 built by a local gun store.
This now makes my firearm repertoire:
1) Bolt gun. M91/30 Mosin Nagant infantry rifle. 7.62x54mmR
2) Pistol, automatic. Beretta 92A1. 9x19mm.
3) Rifle, self-loading/semi-auto. Ruger AR-556. 5.56x45mm.
4) An unknown make and model .22LR pump action that was originally my grandfather's and technically still is my Dad's but is in my possession at the moment.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."Nice stash. How good was your Nagant? I know some are pretty hit and miss in terms of quality, especially older ones.
Who watches the watchmen? The Mosin shoots straight, but the operator isn't used to something that heavy recoiling or heavy weight so any misses are my bad. Or at least used to be that way, I've gotten a lot better at handling the weight of it.
It's also perfectly reliable, like foolproof reliable. Despite being made in 1939 and fighting through World War Two. Clearly it was refurbished at the end of the war because the barrel rifling is good, the bolt is a different manufacturer (Tula Arms) than the receiver (Izhevsk Mechanical Works) and everything otherwise still fits with a relatively pristine wood stock.

Sounds like you lucked out with that Mosin. Some of those franken-build rifles can be pretty shoddy.

They should have sent a poet.I'm probably going to only be having the one for a good long foreseeable future. I'm not made of money after all.
I've already got a laundry list of things I might dress up mine with such as a new handguard (it's the round kind, not Keymod or M-LOK or quad-rails), a vertical grip, a new optic (mine has the present drawback of the reticle disappearing in daylight, I might be using it wrong), some more PMAG's and possibly down the road swapping the muzzle brake for a suppressor.

Sounds like HK had its typical price gouging ways as well as the G36 debacle held against it. Thus the Haenel MK 556 (basically a cheaper HK 416) wins out.

Oh really when?I'm looking into to doing some parts swaps and upgrades to my AR-556. Suggest me some stuff.
My list of things to do are:
- Sights/optics. My current red dot washes out completely in daylight so that's kind of a drag. Plus the current build has no iron sights either for backup or primary use. If I get a reflex/red dot/holographic sight, I'm wanting something for use in all lighting condition and can probably co-witness with iron sights.
- Iron sights. I am wanting some either way. And I don't want any sets that require tools to adjust for elevation/windage.'''
- Handguards. I have a free float tube that I don't mind too much but near as I can tell I can't attach anything to it and it impedes putting on a set of irons to it.
- Foregrips. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna end up with a Magpul grip on this one but I'm way open to suggestion in that regard.
Considerations:
My barrel length is I think 18 inches because that's at least how long it is from the outer end of the magwell to the base of the muzzle brake (that I absolutely adore) on it. My gas system has the port just barely behind the muzzle brake so I'm pretty sure it's at least mid-length, likely a rifle length system. I don't know if it's adjustable or not for suppressor use.
I'm not averse to weight, so if any suggestions come a little heavy I won't care so long as they work.
Budget may be considered but I'll be the ultimate determinant of that one. My AR-556 wasn't uber cheap to get so I don't necessarily have to cheap out on it.
You have until roughly Thanksgiving to suggest me stuff before I commit to any buying (or putting on Christmas lists).

"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."How much money are you willing to spend?
In all seriousness though, it’s going to depend entirely on your budget. If money is no object you could go full-on Cadillac with KAC irons, Leupold or EO Tech glass, and a Seekins/Forward Controls/Geissele handguard, but that’s gonna cost you.
I’d recommend putting most of your budget towards quality glass. The rest can be had at a decent quality for fairly cheap. Magpul makes good furniture and irons, and companies like Aero and BCM also have decent midrange offerings around there.
If you can afford it, the other thing you should absolutely positively have on your rifle is a good sling. Don’t mess around with 1 or 3 point slings unless you have an actual reason to, just get a Vickers sling.
They should have sent a poet.Seconding the investment in optics. Shop around for what you need based on the kind of shooting you intend to do the most.
Who watches the watchmen?
The 9mm 92 series are pretty easy shooting from what I remember. Easily managed recoil and the weapon weight also helps eat up the recoil.
