Why would they talk you out of it? I don't remember this happening. I've always assumed she was literally an avatar. I remember someone calling it into question, but it didn't seem like a strong position.
Anyway, I don't think it's possible for "Gensokyo" to include the Lunarians when it's in the middle of a conversation about the Lunar Capital and how it's different from Gensokyo.

I've always assumed she was an avatar as well, because why else would Nazrin follow her?
Nazrin follows Bishamonten. So do the other Buddhists, but Nazrin especially.

I have no horse, and I must ride. I accomplish unlockments.Back when I was presenting the Three Heavenly Staff Sergeants, I mentioned that the board games between Jian and Shou would be a little awkward because she's in the same hierarchy as the Heavenly Kings and Shou is so far up the ladder from her. This led me to wonder what Nazrin would look like on an org chart, since she's watching over her boss's avatar.

You're a lying liar that lies. Old Yuanxian is awesome, Rigid Paradise is okay
Her power only works on solid objects. I'm not sure if the barrier is solid or even an object
Whether or not Tenshi was fighting at full strength at any point is debateable
Clever
Also terrifying. This is the part where we hope she asked Akyuu to talk her up
If it's large enough to bathe in, it's large enough to drown in
Shouldn't that have left out most of the SA cast and Kogasa?
Awesome
Huh. I'd been assuming that shapeshifting was inherent to youjuu, and it sounds like it is, but I wonder what'd get her mode locked like that
Say what? Shou being an avatar of Bishamonten has been canon from day one
Other stuff: The wiki has partial translations of Kyouko, Byakuren, Koishi, and Mamizou

So Kyouko was probably an animal Youkai and she got small a Tail!? That's...surprising.
Byakuren's portrait: gradient hair is canon.

Heart of StoneLooking back, it was more a disagreement about what being an avatar meant. The note in Shou's entry about Byakuren worshiping her own disciple is closer to the way I was talking about it. IGNORE ME.

Hmmm... Kyouko shouting "Did that surprise you?"
I wonder who's she's echoing...
I have no horse, and I must ride. I accomplish unlockments.RE: the SA cast, don't forget that they live in a former hell. It seems reasonable to assume they'd have some importance in a discussion about faith, life, and death. Yamame and Parsee excluded, I guess. Heck, Satori's still dealing with evil spirits left over from before.
I suspect the reason Shou can no longer transform is that she's an avatar of Bishamonten more than she's a youjuu, now. It may also simply be such ancient history that she simply can't remember, or perhaps her animal form is so forgotten and extinct that it doesn't exist anymore.
Also, Shou using her powers to lure humans, while Byakuren hooks them. Smooth.

I write some fanfiction. Satori's Tale is done... but I'm not.Shou's power can do metaphor as well, it seems. I wonder if she can attract true love.
Because love is the ultimate treasure that man can possess and similar sentiments etcetera.
Heart of StoneShe apparently started as a youjuu somehow, yes. I have no idea what you're talking about with tails, though
I wonder who's she's echoing...
That happened in the mountains, which means before she's likely to have run into Kogasa
Oh, I always complained to fandom for drawing Kyouko with a tail, now I find out that the one who was wrong was me .
Somewhere a Fawriel is dying of the cuteness.

Heart of StoneOh, a couple things I forgot to comment on:
Not only is Asellus wrong in complaining about Kyouko with a tail, Faw is wrong to complain about her with a broom; her training in cleaning the gate
Mamizou's title this time is Futatsuiwa from Sado. Is this the first time someone has ended up with their theme and title being the same?
Komeiji Satori
Ability: Mindreading
Threat: Very High
Human Friendliness: Nothing
Place of activity: Chireiden
Even among the hated residents of Old Hell, there is a group of youkai that stands out as particularly hated: the Satori. Even though they sought refuge among the youkai of Old Hell that are avoided by both humans and other youkai, they ended up being hated there as well.
The reason for that is because she has the power to read minds. No one wants to meet someone who can read their mind after all. It's not merely a matter of having your mind laid bare before her. It's more like conversation becomes completely impossible. She has secluded herself in a place called Chireiden and has completely abandoned communication with others.
There are no visitors to Chireiden. She's made sure of that.
However, she's loved by the wordless animals. To the animals, being able to read minds is a unique power. For that reason, there are many animals living in Chireiden.(footnote 1)*
She can also read the minds of the wordless spirits. Therefore, the vengeful spirits also avoid her. Vengeful spirits are unlike animals, in that they long for conversation. The reason doesn't need to be said: "Beings that use words all have two sides."
She puts the vengeful spirits' fear of her to proper use: she manages the remaining spirits of The Remains of the Hell of Blazing Fires. Because it's impossible to hide things from her, there are no rebels.

I know what's going on. You're all trying to make me hate mind readers! But it won't work! You can steal all you want from my mind but I'll never surrender!
(Murasa's ship-sinking, Shou's attracting true love, using the Lunarian sisters as a contrast to Gensokyo-dwelling sisters, Zun comparing the younger sisters as all broken.)
All these are thoughts I have had. I'm going to have to go through and edit up some of the profiles I've been writing... sniffle. But it's okay. You guys are great anyway. Zun, too.
Edit: This seems to be a transcription of the rest of Satori's profile, Clarste.

Look at that smirk. She's probably planning the downfall of your house as we speak◊

Heart of StoneI got the impression from Suika and Yuugi that they didn't particularly like Satori, themselves.
"She acts grown up and really mild-mannered, but..."
Something like "See, you'd -Think- She'd be likaeable, but then she starts talking, and you just want to sock her in the face."
It seems Satori cultivates this perception, to have people leave her alone.

I write some fanfiction. Satori's Tale is done... but I'm not.Apart from the invasions of privacy, there is nothing to make you think* that Satori is a horrible avoidable individual.
In fact, in one of Reimu's routes, she senses that Reimu is thirsty, and offers her some tea. And she only attacks in self-defence.
Of course, she also hides under tables and lays bare maiden hearts, but I'm sure we've all done that in our time.
Heart of StoneShe looks more like she's playing patty cake hopscotch.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersI think that's exactly it, though. In a sense, the mind is the most private place anyone could ever be. And she just spills the beans out of it all the time. It's a tremendous invasion of privacy, so no matter how polite she is about it, she's still breaking into your house and rooting through your stuff, tossing it into the street. And no one wants their dirty laundry being thrown out in the street.
So to speak.
I write some fanfiction. Satori's Tale is done... but I'm not. There is nothing friendly about that smile, Bocaj. Her eyebrows are in a rather worrying position as well.

Well, Aya doesn't, but no-one cares what Aya thinks. She can't even shoot any lasers. And they definitely don't curve.
