Trying to think of what could happen next... random WMG.

Stanley's heading back to Gobwin Knob. One expects he should be able to call Maggie, Wanda and Sizemore back from the Magic Kingdom sooner or later. With as many corpses as they have available, it's feasible that the city can be defended by uncroaked for a while, maybe long enough to start rebuilding a bit.

Parson, on the other hand, presumably does not get to the Magic Kingdom; I hypothesize that as he's a summoned unit, the portal simply unsummons him. Meaning he can be resummoned. While Stanley's side won't have the money for the spell, Charlie has a lot of resources and has already expressed an interest in having Parson on board - maybe we'll see Parson working with Charlie in a different campaign?

It's also worth pointing out that the king is gonna be hella pissed to find out that his star general just "won" the battle by destroying his own kingdom and losing most of his own army. Not to mention that there's still those other Arkentools to recover, a planet to conquer, an Earth to return to, and a kinky sadomasochistic lesbian relationship to resolve.

Ah, Janis.

Why was I hearing the Student Council speech from Revolutionary Girl Utena toward the end of that? "If the egg's shell does not break, the chick will die without being born."

Wow.... just wow.

Initially, I ignored Erfworld. Art style did not appeal to me at first, the "cutesiness" seemed to be foreground not background, etc.... But finally, I cracked and read forward and its been nothing but rewarding since.

Poor Sizemore..... I've liked him since the beginning. I cannot wait to see where this goes.

I was expecting to spend more time in the Magic Kingdom, for some reason (I guess I expected something to go wrong with the severing of the link, or for the hippymancer thing to be elaborated on). Glad we got in a Scarlet Witch cameo before we left, at least.

Stanley's side being the richest in Erfworld? That's bad news. It's gonna go straight to his head, and he'll start his whole "crusade to take over the world" thing again.

Hopefully he gets deposed somehow—maybe Jillian & co can intercept and croak him. Putting Parson in a real position to live up to his anagram.

I recall there being some buzz a while back about Wanda possibly getting her hands on one of the Arkentools.

I wonder if that's happened? There's certainly one buried somewhere in that mess, and the power overwhelming vibe in the last panel fits.

"Richest side in Erfworld" has to be qualified. Remember, they may have cash now, but they have practically nothing else. They need to rebuild from scratch, and this is probably just what they need to do that.

I think it's likely that Parson is going to continue serving Stanley, and help him take over the world. That's why he was called here after all, and he did say he likes playing as one of the bad guys. I think Parson is set up to be something of an Anti-Hero for the duration of the comic.

Since this is a turn based strategy game, it's not unlikely that with sufficient cash the fortress can be rebuilt in only a couple turns, if not instantly (hey, some games are sloppy and this game makes no attempt to hide its artificiality). Rebuilding the army would be the same, except most of Stanley's army was undead (which have to be made specially by Wanda aand only after a battle) and golems (which have to be made by Sizemore, a limited number per turn). If I were Stanley, I'd try to find a new species to add to my roster.

Oh snap. Uncroaked Ansom?

Since Croakamancy is explicitly a trade-off of quality vs quantity, how powerful would Un Ansom be?

He's a mindless commander, gives bonuses to a stack and can be directly controlled with Thinkamancy. No other benefits. He's like the uncroaked commanders Parson started off with.

Possibly significantly better. Parson didn't have any uncroaked royal faction rulers. He's probably also a higher level than any of the uncroaked commanders.

I keep hearing everyone say Parson's name is an anagram for something. Maybe I'm just no good at anagrams, but I can't spot it. What is it?

Did it say that their levels contributed to their efficiency as Uncroaked?

I don't know, but most undead examples care only about one or two stats..... and INT or WIS aren't generally among them. In-Erfworld, that ignored stat might be command.

I think that level probably does matter for the usefulness of the uncroaked. He might not retain much of a leadership bonus, but he'll probably be an extra badass zombie. Gameplay-wise, don't you think it would be annoying if subjugating and enslaving the corpse of a faction leader offered no rewards beyond those of doing so to a measly squad leader?

Well I think I would be pretty pissed off by that game mechanic.

What examples, by the way?

Off the top of my head, Battle For Wesnoth and all of Blizzard's games. BFW at least has purely cosmetic different versions of zombies for each race (I.E.: Zombie mermen move through water at the same pace as other zombies,) while Blizzard zombies/skeletons tend to have almost no relation to their source (I.E.: Skeletons from swarms of bees in Diablo II.)

We already know that there are variations in quality between uncroaked units in Erfworld though, so some of those can be eliminated off the bat. I don't think it's been mentioned whether they vary by the original quality of the unit in addition to the amount of individual attention given by the caster, but it seems likely.

And of course, there's the possibility that she's got some trick up her sleeve with the Arkenpliers that's going to make this something above and beyond an ordinary uncroaking.

Unattuned Arkenpliers = extra good vs. uncroaked

Arkenpliers attuned to master-level Croakamancer = ???

Alright, now really. Why do we not get a closeup? Other than his eyes and the fact that I don't think his shirt had skulls there before (can't check due to the damn server), I'm not even sure if his appearance changed at all.
