Also, talk about the benefits/whatever of taking a day or a weekend off, or things to do when not online. TV Tropes ruining your life is nothing to be proud of.
Generally, expect the following from this thread:
- People announcing their departure or return.
- Moderators announcing a significant forum ban — not trolls or vandals, but someone people will notice and miss.
- Inquiries about an absent troper.
- Responses to inquiries about an absent troper.

The main reason I have yet to set foot in the actual pages where things get done and simply confined myself to the forums is because I don't want to slip up and get banned.

I don't either, d Roy. I honestly agree with the staff in general. Not every decision, but I can't see one that was bad whatsoever.

OK, let's clarify some things:
Cygan did ask Bobby and the administration to ban her. And so did I. It didn't fall through, so we stayed, which lead to Iverum's post a while back on Toper Updates about hosts and stuff.
It's been at least one month since that. By that time, Cygan's mind had changed and she thought she could genuinely help the site by staying and contributing to discussion.
now, Cygan had a history of uncivility before as she slowly grew tired with the way things are done here and with a...less than stellar userbase, let's just say. And so did I. I mostly stayed out of habit and because I made some great friendships with people who I dearly respect. Upon some reflection, though, I decided there's not a real point in staying.
This is, well, a truth that I've maintained for a very long time now. And I'm not sure if it'll ever turn into action. For now, I'm taking a break and reducing my posting. Wherever that leads, we'll see. I can't say I'll ever leave the site for good. At least, not with a flounce or a similar forced fashion, as I'm a slave to habit, which is a problem I deal with everyday.

There was a time, few days ago actually, when I was about to snap at a troper for repeatedly antagonizing me (note that I'm greatly exaggerating things). I had a second thought and just hollered the mod instead.
Bobby responded to it and, well, to sum, he listened to what I had to say (Read: childish whining).
And that made me feel all the better, really.

Cool people getting banned at this point is just a disagreement. Cool people leaving because they don't want to be here happens much more often and is one more confirmation of "this is a terrible place, get out before you're thrown out." Which I disagree with, but every ragequit is a drop in the evidence in favor.
If the moderation was fully in charge, I'd feel really good about the place.

Been kicking around the idea of leaving myself. Cygan's banning doesn't exactly fill me with new motivation to stay, I'll be honest.
It seems like battle lines are being drawn around here...Starting to think that maybe it would be best if I left while I'm still friends with both sides.

@Gwirion: Easy. While I don't personally agree with a decision, is does not mean I find it actually bad.
For example: I hate auto-full healing after battle. That doesn't make it bad, just something I don't prefer. They're both subjective, and don't go hand in hand.

...well, fuck all y'all. You can sympathy-quit if you want, but I'm staying. I'll stay out of spite if I need to. I can be the last motherfucker standing in an empty forum with nobody but the moderators for company.
I'm just gonna say right now that I don't think I'll ever completely leave the site, or at least not in the forseeable future. I might not be posting or editing quite as much as I used to but as long as I have as many friends as I do here and I don't get banned or anything like that, I'm staying.
Then again, I don't know if I can really be considered one of the "cool people" on TV Tropes...
