To be fair, though, it's not as if everyone would agree that the "psycoframe channeling all the emotions and feelings of humanity" thing happened.

You could argue that the Sleeves were formed by Neo-Zeon nutjobs who think that Axis Shock was a fluke and that the Federation are still being oppressive dickbags.

Some Fans and Writers just don't want to let go of the whole Zeon vs Fed dynamic

So you have a bunch of "Zeon" factions that keep the unit Aesthetics alive

upon rewatching Gundam 0083... I still can't believe all Kou got was a court martial and 1 year in prison considering Just how much he fucked up in the end.

If anything Kou should have just been Shot the moment he came back

I think the main thing is that Kou's fuckup worked out pretty well for the dominant power in the Federation. Jamitov probably pulled a few strings to get him let off lightly.

What's precedent ever done for us?

[up][up]Nah, after all the crap he went through and showed that he's willing to defy orders to fuck the Zekes' shit up, he should've been conscripted into the Titans.

[up][up][up][up][up]Suit yourself. Me, I can't stand "and now there will be peace forever" endings. Not gonna happen. Not now, not ever. It's against human nature. A "fuck yeah, we can finally go home; there might be another war down the line, but frankly I don't give a shit, at least this one is over and we're still alive" ending is much better and more fitting for the grizzled veterans our heroes become. That's why I personally prefer UC over the others.

Oh right... The only Feds left to punish him would be the guys that wanted it to happen...

Wasn't "Peace Forever" the ending to 00 Gundam, after they had reached understanding™ with the aliens?

FrozenWolf2 Since: Mar, 2013
#20207: Oct 12th 2018 at 7:45:46 AM

Wing's ending was Mobile Suits stopped being the main weapon of war... since Endless Watz pretty much opens with "As long as Man exists There will always be battles"

AC just went to a Zoid system of framing XD

[up][up]Understanding(TM) only really works in Macross. In Gundam it might as well be heresy.

Thats the funny thing

New Types were suppose to be the way to understanding and peace

Amuro and Char are both New Types

Amuro understands Char perfectly

Amuro also hates Char with the burning passion of a million fiery suns and Char can't let go of his need to Kill Amuro in his cosmic dick measuring contest

Understanding doesn't mean Acceptance, all it does is give you clarity of the person you're dealing with if you peer into someones soul only to find... I just HATE that guy.

In fact I'm almost think it make it worse, since peace is about compromise and if you can see someones TRUE essence 'like Scirocco' It makes the idea of compromising with someone like that almost impossible.

So Newtypes only made compromise for peace even more impossible.

If I remember correctly, DOME from X revealed that Newtypes were not exactly this supposed master race that everyone thought they were. (Or something along those lines.)

I'm not all that sure that Amuro hates Char. In CCA, he's just really disappointed in him, like an old buddy who fell off the wagon and is in yet another self-sabotaging downward spiral (that happens to involve dropping giant rocks on people).

Zeon fanatics often use Newtypism and the idea of being supposedly superior to Oldtypes on Earth as a often justification for Colony Dropping.

"Souls weighed down by gravity" and all that bullshit. When in reality Newtypes are just a different kind of person, but not superior that's for certain, especially as said in Crossbone Gundam.

Heh yeah it’s funny. [lol]

Understanding doesn’t automatically lead to love & coexistence.

Som people are just fucking incompatible regardless of whether they understand each or not.

Another random thought: what if Anaheim Electronics was the reason the Sleeves came into being in the first place?

They had a lot of information to work with from the Gryps Conflict and the Neo-Zeon Wars, after all...

Peace was the goal for humanity and understanding was the goal for contact with aliens. Because aliens may not be able to comprehend us and vice versa so battles would result from it. Only a united human front could protect humanity for when that happens.

The ELS had contacted + ruined multiple worlds cause they had no idea how to comprehend other life so they assimilated it in the hopes of making contact. There's even the implication they started fighting because they think that's how earthlings communicate.

Well, the Death of (Rene) Descartes was probably meant to be taken literally and figuratively because the existence of GN particles enables real telepathy, which destroys the concept of Solipsism. That is probably why 00 is the only Gundam series that ends with true peace.

A rather naive notion of understanding, but 00 is clearly influenced by classic, optimistic Sci-Fi authors like Clarke, so it is part of the decon-/reconstruction process of the series (Clarke vs. Heinlein).

I actually like UC Gundam, my only complaint is the ridiculous reemergence situations of every Neo-Zeon remnant after Char's Counterattack. I would prefer to see some later UC stuff, but I guess after Narrative there probably will be some kind of Mars Zeon conflict.

I am a simple man, I like stories therefore I dissect and discuss them.

Its not that newtypes proved peace to be impossible, its that everyone forgot that newtypes are people too.

Also the ELS are far less ridiculous than the Space Whale skeleton of Seed.

I'm I the only one who actually wants to know the origin of that Space Whale fossil?

A space whale died millions of years ago would be my guess.

wild mass guessSEED is actually the future of South Park. The so-called “space whale” fossil is actually the remains of the killer whale the boys sent to the moon, altered and relocated to the Jupiter Sphere as part of a massive conspiracy to hide the fact that 4 kids from South Park, Colorado successfully stole a killer whale and sent it to the fucking moon.wild mass guess

Or maybe its the Space Whale from the SNES Star Fox timeline who took a wrong turn at Space Albuquerque and ended up in the Cosmic Era. A fate truly worse than death.
