Like the game tries to build them up as normal dudes who are eventually driven to the extremes of Law and Chaos the way Jiminez and Zelenin were, but then you find the White and they just turn into gibbering psychos who commit sudoku so you can get your real final party members.
Tell me Apocalypse is better than this. The hero looks cooler at least.
I like apocalypse, but i think Flynn looks cooling than Nanashi. Also the problem with Walter and Johnathan is inconsistency, Walter is the hot headed casualry, while Johnathan is the nice guy who respects authority, later in the game, Johnathan chokes out an asura-kai who is just a messanger, demanding to know where the samurai are, while Walter is telling him to chill.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Yeah, in that situation it would have made more sense for Walter to choke the guy and Jonathan to tell Walter to calm down.
Meanwhile, Isabaeu has no strong opinions either way. thinking on it, Gore is one of the best Neutral reps this series has had.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I dunno, Gore spends most of the game as a pawn for Chaos.
No spoilers! I never did the Neutral route and want to replay Strange Journey sometime.
Apocalypse's cast is kind of like...hmm...if Atlus tried their hand at making a Tales game, kinda.
My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsA lot of hardcore SMT types hate Apocalypse but it's a great game. I'd say it is in all ways superior to SMTIV.
It features a full cast of characters - companions you might call them - who each have arcs that are interesting and well-done IMO.It is Persona meets Shin Megami Tensei, combining the best of both series.

It definitely fixes almost every last mechanical complaint I had with IV.
The final dungeon suuuuuuuuuuucks, though.

My Megaman and MegaTen liveblogsWell yes but nothing is perfect.
The dungeon before that was perfect.
The final dungeon of Apocalypse isn't all that bad to me, just long. It definitely feels more tolerable than Grus Part 2.
Granted, that's not a very high bar to clear...
I love apocalypse but i always felt that despite how good they are, Mercer and Acaba just don't have the same presence as the old actors for Lucifer and Merkahbah. Despite Lucifer's crappy design, his line I am the Demon Lord Lucifer. A Son of Man and a Demon, reunited in one body...this is my truest form. You, Son of Man, who desires a world of freedom. Let us march on Naraku together. We shall demonstrate the laws of power to the Kingdom of Deceit! still gives me chills and rallies me for Chaos despite the fact that we are going to murder a LOT of people, while Merkahbah's lines against Lucifer in their boss fight are so damn chilling. I don't get the same feeling with Mercer and Acaba for some reason even if they do a great job.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Uh they are the same actors. Just without the filters.
That you think they're other actors does speak well to the job they did hiding if.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Could have sworn i saw they had different actors, i'll check.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Geez, that tumblr someone mentioned is depressing to read It kinda reads like blog of burned out fan
Eirikrjs?
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."So i i've been playing Shin Megami tensei 2, and i'm at the part where i fight basilisk. Question: What determines the ending i get? Is it possible for me to get locked in?
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I haven't played SMT II, so unfortunately I can't help you on what point the alignment lock is (Alignment is what determines your ending).
Okay, so while there is an alignment system, there is a moment in the endgame where all the faction leaders meet with you to get you on their side, so that's the lock.
So I've been playing and wow, is the first person POV disorientating, sure Strange Journey had it, but not for the towns and such. So far it's a fun experience, though after fighting Daleth, everywhere is flooded with demons, time to do some grinding.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Earlier this year, I mentioned that if Digital Devil Saga were to be remade today a skill that would prevent enemies from running away would be something that could be added in. Here's what I think it would be called: Heated Chase. It would be a passive skill that prevents enemies from running away when equipped on an active member of the party. While the Omoikanes in Digital Devil Saga 1 would just debilitate you into oblivion if you have Heated Chase equipped on an active party member, the Omoikanes in Digital Devil Saga 2 could instead all unleash Last Word on your party if they can't run away and you haven't exploited their weaknesses yet. Also, in DDS1 Heated Chase would be something I would add to the Five Gods mantra, but for DDS2 it will instead go onto the same mantra as Miser's Spirit (prevents loss of money when inflicted with Panic IIRC).

You'd think Yamato would be down for Anguished One's idea. Start over again, build humanity on a new foundation. It will definitely entail struggle, strife and the indomitable spirit of man to survive.
Somebody once said Saiduq, not Yamato, is the Chaos rep for De Su 2. I can kinda see that. His world is at least in the same primitivist spirit of SJ's Chaos Ending.
But man, fuck Ronaldo. No wonder people hate him. Everyone is so nice to him and he even starts being nice back and saying peace and friendship is cool, yeah. But then out of nowhere he's like " FUCK YOU I'M A STUBBORN ASS!"
Regardless of their ideals, Ronaldo is just kind of an unlikable jerk compared to everyone else.

When you get down to it, it's why a lot of the humans in the franchise are assholes. For all their ideals and horrible shit, most of the demons are too alien/awesome to truly hate. At worst, Yhvh's followers are doing their jobs.
"No will to break."Well i can see Yamato's logic and reasoning for why he disagrees with Alcor and instead wants a meritocracy. There is also the fact putting a Septentrione is bad according to Yamato at least. But Ronaldo, man he started cool then WHAM, kills you know who, i regret siding with him on day 6.
But yes, Alcor is a sweet boy, and he's my pick for the game. Not to mention that overthrowing Polaris is pure Lucifer and True Demon.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. It's great, until the Tri arc came along.
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’
I see.
Jimenez and Zelenin are well developed characters, while Jonathan and Walter are inconsistent.
