Shin Megami Tensei Series

I mean. When it comes to the "demon summoning" stuff, I have the novel it's based on in another tab. The game just didn't mention what the Demon Summoning Program was downloaded into that I can carry around all over the place with me. I just assumed that it had been downloaded into the PC.

Must have been awkward going out like that, with the googles and stuff, in front of my mom.

Do you have a link to that GBA thing? It does sound better.

I mean, it can be found easily enough, but linking here probably isn't good. Look for a prepatch of the GBA game, you'll find it.

Technically it's preservation since the IOS version is now firmly lost media, but I'd rather not get banned.

Apropos of nothing, I just found the page for Sennentuntschi, and I have to ask; has this thing ever been in Megaten? Because it seems like it would fit.

I continue to be surprised by this game's difficulty. It's not so hard as to be unenjoyable, but compared to both Fire Emblem and its own sequel, the enemy AI is in its own league here.

The AI is just as spiteful and desiring you to lose as FE, though. WHY did you kill yourself on that Toubyou, Keisuke?

Heh, its been a long while hasn't it?

I haven't been in the site for freaking years due to just lack of interest. But I figured I may as well come back for something I had planned but never really went through.

Remember years ago how I was planning on giving the version of Nocturne that replaced Dante with Raodou a shot and never went through with it? Well... I am actually going to play it for real now. And I figured I may as well make posts about my playthrough as I go through.

Here are the things I have planned for my playthrough.

(1) I will play on hard. (2) I will go for the Neutral Ending (3) I will still go to the Amala Labyrinth but will just simply avoid the final lift.

One final touch, since Nocturne is pretty hard. I will keep posting a Death Counter for how many times Iose. As well as try to come up with amusing names for each death.

Well, I suppose it is time I once again step into the world of Megaten...

Day 3! Apparently I’m going to die again today, and from what I’ve heard about the Beldr/Baldur fight...

Holy crap, I have the Devil/Lucifer's freaking luck.

I survived one of the tutorial battles with LITERALLY 1HP! But I had to use a Soma to survive.

And 2nd, during the hospital. 2 Hua Pos did an almost Total Party Kill with only the Demi-Fiend surviving. I thought that I was gonna get my first Game Over... Until the Hua Pos started to try to use magic even though they were out of MP!

So I might get Nocturne HD...

Shin Megami Tensei BGM Pack "Includes BGM tracks from various games in the "Shin Megami Tensei" series to use on the map and during battle in the Vortex World."

But they don't list how many OR which tracks. So frustrating.

Also I'm confused, Are both Dante and Raidou DLC? There's Maniax and Chronicles Pack and says they are both DLC. So if I didn't get either of those I'd just play the regular game - that is, regular for the original Japanese release we never got? No Labyrinth of Amala or TDE?

They did announce that in a press release, it's the world map/normal battle themes from each mainline Shin Megami Tensei game, so eight tracks in total.

Raidou is included in the base console version for all regions that aren't China/Korea, he is (free) DLC for the PC version, so technically yes you can play the original Japanese release if you don't have his pack toggled. Dante is DLC no matter what version.

So no Apocalypse or Strange Journey music? Lame. Or is SJ a mainline game? Because 4 main games would include Nocturne but obviously Nocturne's own songs can't be part of the bonus BGM...

Still, thanks for the reply and info. I might get the Deluxe Edition I guess. Follow along with everyone else replaying it.

Well it might be considered a spinoff on the basis of not being set in tokyo or not being a Numbered title. OTOH it still feels like main IMO and it does seem to be canon to Apocalypse AFAIK with the DLC.

Plut is might be like KH's where the spinoffs are aprt of the narrative (well as far as Nonlinear Sequels can get

So that was money well spent then. I get to listen to the best world map theme in Nocturne now.

If fans make a Nocturne Hard Type mod for the PC version, this might be the definitive edition for me.

Well, according to this one thing I found, Digital Deluxe people like me will get early access to the game on May 21st.

But I will most likely not be mentioning any story stuff. Just random commentary on gameplay or graphics or voices. Not a whole lot happens in Nocturne, especially the early game.

Can't wait to die to a bunch of random crits in the early game again, though.

Oh nice.

Frankly, I just want to go into the game knowing as little as possible and be surprised.

Even though my dumb luck has saved me from getting Game Overs do far, I think it may start to run out now.

(Since there is someone that wants to experience Nocturne unspoiled I will put the following on Spoiler tags)

I didn't take into account how the Magatamas worked, and the Demifiend has less skills than intended at this point in the game. I now know how they work but... I am now at the point that a certain Spanish boneman is about to challenge the Demifiend... Still gotta survive whatever the Vortex World throws at me.

Finished a run of Radiant Historia: PC, and decided to go back to SMT IV.

Then was painfully reminded that I had start over again due to getting a New 3DS. Now I get to reexperience the joys of Fiend Hunting.

Time to save my gems for Koga Saburo in Dx 2

I've said to before and I'll say it again: personally, that's not as annoying as Accident-only demons. Then again, that might be because I didn't know one particular Famed needed to be unlocked first...

So question about New Cycle for DDS. When's the Demifiend technically unlocked? A guide I found says after Varin, but some others say you have to go all the way up the temple, activate the four gods, and do all the bonus bosses again.
