The Pokédex - Extended Fanon Edition

Hey, I was thinking, what about incluiding some alternate listing to the numerical one that includes ALL Pokemon, ala the New Dex in GSC? (I speak mostly because I have one made over here, going by family and habitat, and by starters-earlygame-forest-cave-city-building-plains-mountain-freshwater-mud-coast-sea-fossil-jungle-desert-snow-tomb-pseudolegend-legends order :P ).

...I'm afraid I don't follow.

I feel like tackling a legendary. I don't know which... Is Giratina taken?

Okay. Here's my question, though. Do you see Giratina as the "dimension" (In the alternate-dimensions sense, not the spacial relations sense) to Dialga's "time" and Palkia's "space"?

I see Giratina as The Runt at the End that acts like a Large Ham and/or tries too hard in order to be noticed. Because dude, being completely ignored in favor of your 'older siblings' by pretty much the entire world is harsh. Never really put much thought into what Giratina represents in that context.

Perhaps being in charge of the Multiverse or AU's? You know, as in 'the canons of Anime, Mystery Dungeon, Main Games, Console Games, 'Cute Pikachu' etc.'?

So was looking over the vulpix article as posted on the wiki, and an addition that was made to it brings up a good question. How are we treating the Mystery Dungeon games?

If you think about reality, no two objects can occupy the same time and space. But what if there were an alternate dimension? Then they could be in the same time and same place without any trouble! If one thinks of the universe as a massive coordinate plane, with time as the X-Axis and space as the Y-Axis, it stands to reason that dimension would be the Z-Axis, producing many alternate copies of the spacetime world we live in. Given the whole Distortion World thing, plus Shadow Force entailing dimensional travel to prepare an attack, I've always seen Giratina as the arbiter of dimensions. Also some sort of antimatter connection, apparently.

I think we're mostly ignoring is as far as canon goes, but nothing says you can't make a subtle joke or reference about it or something, like saying that Kecleons are known to become unstoppable when stolen from.

From what I can tell... You? We? This project isn't dealing with those games.

I could go into so much detail about how to imagine the 10th dimension and how time can be traveled through in order to access an alternate dimension where different things happened and history is significantly altered because of it causing it to become another reality and thus another universe, but then I'd be writing another wall of text that should really be reserved for a paper for physics class.

To make things pretty simple, have you ever played Super Paper Mario? If so, Giratina is Dimentio on steroids.

No I have never played Super Paper Mario.

My tl;dr explanation for Giratina is pretty much this: The thing that cuts things apart and makes new stuff out of it on an enormous scale.

On a different note, this is perfect for adding some realism and in-universe debates for what Giratina is and studies on the Distortion world and all that jazz. I also wanted to make sure I wrote this article because the Arceus Article (that is in serious need of clean-up) mentions that Cynthia received a Giratina Egg from the Arceus Event, and I didn't want that to go untouched.

Giratina is canonically stated to represent antimatter. Or rather, the opposite of both Palkia and Dialga.

I'll never understand why they haven't ackedknowledged Giratina as dimension. To me, it's pretty obvious. And it certainly fits.

Well, you'd have to describe the mythology at some point. I do like the idea of Giratina being the AU master. Could be funny if it had once brought Cynthia to the Mystery Dungeon world for a few seconds on accident.

Anomalocaris, dimensions do not work that way. Space alone is already 3 dimensions. Fiction has some trouble gasping into that, however. Antimatter as opposite and unbounded by time and space is relatively more accurate that "dimension". Giratina goes by its own rules, as seen in the Distorsion World. Palkia and Dialga can also change universes and create portals and such things too. All three of them would be the concept of dimension in the way you define it, not just Giratina, who is more concrete.

I cannot read Japanese.

How is space 3 dimensions? It contains 3 geometric dimensions (As far as we know), but not 3 in the sense I'm using. I mean it as in separate universes. The Distortion World is a separate universe...

In which case it's just a misconception of word choice, which we need not go into at this time.

I'll just do my best to do justice to all of the theories on what Giratina is meant to represent. Maybe once I make to the Distortion World in my Platinum game I'll have a better understanding of it, but for now, I'll just put it on hold and focus on other things like schoolwork.

Also, Eriordriguez, I spent a few more minutes looking at that comic. NO I AM NOT GOING TO INCLUDE THAT INTO THE ARTICLE.
