KHII Sora is the one that wanted to be a pirate and grovelled at Saix's feet if it meant saving Kairi and told Demyx et al to fuck off and was distraught at being put on Santa's naughty list. He has a hell of a lot more personality than in his next canon appearance (3D). Honestly, I feel like he's only really a flanderized goody two shoes there, he's not nearly as bland in I, Co M and II.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.x3 I mean Sora doesn't really dole out the compassion wagon for Disney villains either. Tragic or otherwise most of these people made their proverbial bed and have to lie in it and when the time comes that those who need some compassion reach for it, Sora is already the first to offer his hand and that's enough I think.
Nobodies already have enough problems with leather pants already, they really don't need any more.
Also objectively best Sora is Chain of Memories!Sora, that game broke him down quite impressively and really played on Sora's Always Save the Girl as a genuine character flaw.

I can't take any post seriously if it posits that Aqua is more interesting than literally anyone.
Except maybe Ven.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Didn't KH 2 Sora get into a fist fight in Land of Dragons?
He did. Then again, so did Donald.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?If by fight you mean "got punched really hard", then yeah.

Don't catch you slippin' now.Aqua, regardless of how well it was executed, at least is self-reflective and has character conflict going on. ESPECIALLY in the 2.8 KH 3 Tech Demo.
Ven also goes from a happy go-luky kid to 'I don't deserve to exist'.
Again, execution of this is questionable but its there.
KH 3 D says there's darkness in Sora's heart but... doesn't really explain it very well. Like, Sora can be corrupted into something so dark its a vessel for Xehenort (which, btw, dude, even if he was, that's an awfully hard target to try and reach for). But... I don't see any compelling reason for this argument besides the game says its a thing for a plot point.
He doesn't do anything particuarly evil. In fact, he takes Neku's complete betrayal in moronic stride and brushes it off. SO EVIL!
As far as I'm aware darkness is more like...negativity? I mean if Aqua got norted while in the Lo D, that's clearly not it. And then we have Riku who can still use darkness despite being firmly heel face turned. There's also Terra. You know, the guy who is currently Xehanort's primary host? His most evil act is killing Eraqus, and that was just him going overboard while defending Ven.
Anyway my point underneath all the edits is Dark Is Not Evil. I think.

The Darkness infecting Sora in 3D is because the Realm of Sleep is a weird place not because its feeding on his character flaws to grow stronger.

Terra didn't even kill Eraqus. It's easy to miss, but Xehanort shot him In the Back with a bolt of DARKNESS.
Easy to miss? I thought it was obvious.
Don't catch you slippin' now.Ack, right. It's been a while. Still, my point stands.
x4
What character flaws?! Sora doesn't do anything interesting in 3D. Like, maybe if his events in Notre Dame or with Neku explored his more negative traits, fine, but it doesn't.
Sora is a clueless idiot. That's his big character flaw! He's got two braincells! And even that's not treated as a flaw in universe!
I don't think anyone here is denying he's flanderized in 3D. It's the other games that are in question here. I like Sora, and I think he's flanderized in 3D.

Same here, Im Sorry I Thought That Was Obvious.
...Damn, nostalgia bomb.
The Dream Eaters are Darkness, and "Dreams hold our memories, sleep holds our dreams, and Darkness , it holds our sleep."
And. Like, am I wrong, or isn t it said that Sleeping Worlds are worlds that fell to Darkness? Theyre sorta. Part but not part? Of the darkness? Like, bubbles floating on it or in it?
I think the explanation is that they weren't properly revived when they were freed, but I could be wrong.
Don't catch you slippin' now. But, like. Where, tho.
And HOW too.
I think it was explained in one of the early Memos and/or cutscenes by Yen Sid. And as for how, can't that be asked of literally everything in this series?
EDIT: Go to the 21:20 mark in this video.

Don't catch you slippin' now.Doesn't it happen just offscreen or something? Definitely not as clear as it could have been.
Ok, but its still a reasonable question.
"They weren't restored properly after the first game."
"...How?"
- vague gesture*
How makes even less sense when you factor in Musketeers.
Why do the musketeers mean it makes less sense?
Yeah I remember the idea is that because the worlds are dreaming they're playing events from the past on loop.
Sora mistreats rabbits.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?
