torphy is her name now
"Never let the truth get in the way of a good story." TwitterDidn't Hanners just say a few pages back that she has a photographic memory? Unless that only applies to the visual spectrum she's definitely getting it wrong on purpose.
Trump delenda estWell, it is photographic...
Tilly needs to hold up a sign with her name on it.
Either Tilly is going to accidentally make Hanners more assertive, or she's just going to get on her last nerve.
| Wandering, but not lost. | If people bring so much courage to this world...◊ |Tilly isn't there to be an assistant (though she thinks she is) she's there to push Hanners into being more assertive and better capable to take over for her mother...
http://www.mansionofe.comI like it, Hanners' mum running a Batman Gambit.
Avatar from here.I feel like we've sort of had this plotline before, but with Clinton playing the role of Tilly.
This is jangling all my nerves about being forced into an unpleasant situation - I know it's being Played for Laughs, but we know Hanners has a whole schtick about contact, routine, structure - and she was self improving, building herself and "getting better".
This screams of trying to "force a change" and this assistant is willfully ignorant. It's weird - I'm having a real visceral reaction to it - someone basically being emotionally compromised by a relentless person who wont take NO for an answer.
i'm going to agree with this and add on: hanners is at her job. why is tilly insisting on making coffee for her?
i see why it's played, but it doesn't make sense.
[forum cryptid: it/it's]Also you were just told you aren't allowed behind the counter, why are you climbing back over the counter, are you a strangely dutiful small child
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableJust for the record, if my is correct, I didn't say I approved of Hanner's mother doing it.
http://www.mansionofe.comi'm not arguing with the headcanon, i'm responding to the actual events of the comic.
[forum cryptid: it/it's]The jury's still out on Marten's gardening gig.
Joke? Why are you calling it a joke? You drew a picture of two dudes hugging and wrote "I love hugs!" on it....Dora and Tai have been dating for 1800 strips?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.That's what... a week of comic time?
Fresh-eyed movie blogOh huh, early 2200s is when the interns got introduced too.
Tilly will only react when Hanners PROPERLY channels her mum with a "You have to do what I say, but remember, when I AM running the Empire, I will remember EVERYTHING you did and it will NOT be in your favour."
Basically, asking Tilly to trade pain now with her mother versus potential GREATER pain from hanners down the line (Yes, I know she isn't particularly vindictive, but this could end up with her Mother getting a "Be careful what you wish for" moment)
Of course, it WON'T because Rule of Funny and Hanners won't go evil...
Also, Tilly is in Bubble's Chair. That could go poorly.

Definitely getting the impression that Tilly was even more warped by her environment than Hannelore.
Guess we’re in for ‘how does a trained supervillain minion integrate with normal society?’ arc.
What's precedent ever done for us?Jeph did specifically mention on his Twitter (a few strips back) that everything we’ve seen so far from her has a point to it.

Does anyone else get the feeling that Tilly is kind of a younger version of Hanners?
Trump delenda estNot really. Tilly is all about breaking Hannelore's personal boundaries and I could never see Hannelore ever do that.
Also a tumblr I follow theorized that Tilly might be a robot and that's why she's such a weirdo.
That was my thought, too.
Also, I think Tilly's true calling may be in fashion design. :P
