It was a party 50% made up of people who are entirely unfamiliar with Yay. And those people are the ones that made it an in-apartment party while Roko was busy with a breakdown.

And Yay is intimidating and proud of it. Roko is used to it and Melon doesn’t care, but the scientist and the engineer would be likely to recognize their exceptional nature and subsequently less likely to relax, drunk app or no drunk app.

I still don't see how it can be fun but maybe I just dislike losing control of my actions more than most.
If you're one of the people who can't stop thinking, it can help calm those inner voices, same as meditation, and arguably easier and more consistent.

I rarely drink, because the alcohol hurts my stomach before I feel any kind of buzz. But some days you just gotta put a double shot of peppermint schnapps in your hot chocolate.

Good booze doesn't taste bad. The cheap stuff is awful, but you get what you pay for.
And sometimes it feels good to lose your inhibitions and not be in control of yourself. Sometimes. All things in moderation.
Alcohol usually hurts your stomach if you drink it without eating anything. That's why it's best to eat some snacks or a meal to go with your booze.
I do however advise against drinking in an attempt to silence inner voices or because you're feeling bad. Drinking doesn't help that. Drink when you're in a good mood and in good company and want to have fun. Drowning My Sorrows doesn't work.
I for example like to either drink when I go out to dinner with people or at parties. On the occasions where I drink alone, I pour a glass of whiskey and settle down to play a good videogame or watch the latest vids from various Youtubers whose content I like.
