There was some discussion of it in the main summer season thread, so I figured I'd make a thread for it.

Anyone want to take a crack at making a page for it? I might, if nobody else does.

I haven't ever watched this show, nor I know if its good or bad...

...But its tittle is hilarious to me. I mean, seriously, THE LEGEND of THE LEGENDARY Heroes! Though, I feel I have seen that in sentence before... Anyway, its still silly tittle to me.

It Makes Sense in Context. In-show, there are stories about the "legendary heroes" who saved the country from evil monsters in the distant past. They are always referred to as such. The main character is trying to revive them (or something, it's sorta hard to tell so far). So, it's a bit like The Legend Of Zelda, but with Zelda replaced by legendary heroes...

It is still a pretty hilarious title, though.

The title makes me think it's a parody (possibly affectionate) of epic fantasy stories. True or not?

There is some comedy, but the actual plot takes itself pretty seriously.

So, who else figures Kiefer is the traitor and that's why she was trying to warn our protagonist?

^That certainly seems like the most dramatic thing to do. I mean, it's hardly going to be Ryner, and the rest don't really have any characterization at all.

That's what I was thinking, actually. It's either her or...that guy who's always hanging out with Sion (who is the really obvious choice).

I guess it is.

So, the Alpha Stigma is like some weird cross between the Sharingan and Flandre's ability.

This episode was... surprisingly gory.

Y'know, the episode surprised me in several way. There was a lot more gore than I excepted, the things I thought there they were going to try to surprise us with were actually thrown out there pretty casually, and Ryner just got a lot more three-dimensional. Can't say these were particularly unpleasant surprises, though.

Agreed. That was a pretty interesting episode. I was surprised to see that Kiefer actually lived, at least for now...it looks like next episode we go back the present storyline. I have to say that the past storyline is a lot more intriguing at the moment, but then I suppose the present one hasn't really started in earnest yet.

I guess it is.

I figured out what bothers me about this series: It's way too shiny.

About the last episode, it was OK.

I feel I should note that the page now contains at least one spoiler for events that haven't happened in the anime yet.

Also, agreeing on the shininess.

Legend tells of a legendary warrior who was made of the stuff of legend.

So, by this point it seems that Ryner's plotline is lighthearted and filled with slapstick, while Sion's will be more serious... and Miran reminds me of Oberstein a little.

Miran looks like he might end up being a Poisonous Friend, especially if it turns out he killed Fiole.

I wonder if Sion is planning an Assimilation Plot. It would sorta fit with his rhetoric about everyone being equally happy, and it seems to be the go-to scheme for Well Intentioned Extremists in anime these days.

Edit: A thought has occurred. Sion rescued Fiole's sister in the first episode, yes? That would mean that this one takes place chronologically after it.

So wait, did Sion order Toale's assassination (in which case this would be a first sign of his villainy), or did Miran just take it upon himself to remove an obstacle to Sion becoming ruler of the world? If the former, why did he do it? If the latter, why didn't he seem shocked or angry when Miran admitted to making the attack?

I guess it is.

Well, he knew that Ryner and Ferris were at Toale's place, so if something bad had happened, Miran would have probably been dead, but yes, that probably needs clarifying.

By now, it would also seem that every major character (except maybe Sion) will have an ability which Ryner will not be able to copy.

If that was his assumption, he probably wouldn't have been angsting about the fact that Miran got into a fight with Ryner and Ferris.

I guess it is.

...Milk's squad are so going to die in the next couple episodes. Milk probably ends up the only survivor and joins up with Ryner and Ferris.

I don't think they're all going to die, both Milk and Silver-haired guy appear in the OP, after all, so that gives them a certain degree of protection. Also, Ferris and Ryner need to stop summoning giant monsters if they are not going to deal with them afterwards.

Oh, you're right. I guess he'll probably live too. Still, that scene at the end just screams "SEVERAL DEATHS AHEAD".

Is there a trope for that? A happy moment being a huge red-flag that something bad is going to happen soon?
