Got back from a trip and got to play 5 again. What a great game, I'm gonna be replaying it for a long time. Bold to lock Nero's entire DT moveset to post-game, but I wager most people play through this game more than once. Vergil gave me a lot of trouble even in DH (as Dante, for Nero it's a victory lap), but I kept at it till I S-ranked it. Also unlocked everything but the 3-million orb taunts, since I want to go at it with everything on deck now. Currently S-ranking the rest of DH, then gonna do SOS and then either Bloody Palace or DMD.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.So, I got the impression that most people considered Devil May Cry 3 to be the best game in the series. Does that still hold true now that DMC 5 had been out long enough for everyone to have gotten past the new game hype and played it a few (or a lot) times?
Devil May cry 5 is my new favorite in the series.
I expect a Special Edition can make it even better in the future, as long as its made a DLC pack alongside a Stand alone edition.
Watch Symphogear4 was my fave, it still might be. I'm still really conflicted about which I prefer. V and 4 are both really, really good.
Bleye knows Sabers.4 I felt became better with the Special Edition, but it still has the backtracking issue.
Watch SymphogearYeah but I think I prefer the bosses in 4. Berial > Goliath, and Credo's probably still the franchise's best.
V on the other hand has a ton of quality-of-life improvements too like the revival system.
It's sooooo damn close though. Both are so, so good.
Bleye knows Sabers.I feel the boss quality is overall the best, though. Goliath is actually something of a Challenge Compared to Berial, and the dyanamic wall destruction feels much more natural and impactful then the village destruction from Berial in 4.
That chicken bitch from 5 (Forget her name) can get bent, though.
Watch SymphogearMalphas.
For me, style switching alone elevates 5 over 3. I know there's a mod for it somewhere, but it's such a huge deal for Dante's gameplay that I can't really go back.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.So. I've finally got another tv screen to get my ps4 working, so I decided to go back to dmc v.
Oh boy did I lost my touch at it.
To be fair, going in with mission 19 wasn't the smartest idea. But hey, finally got that s rank on that one ! only... five more to go ! Yaaaaay...
Like, am I missing something obvious on missions 8 and 10 ? It feels like both of those are a gigantic pain to S-rank. Is it just me ?
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."5 is the best one. The story gives a great conclusion to the Sparda family's internal drama, mechanically it goes through the roof on mad stuff you can do. Dante literally has no skill ceiling anymore. Nero has been perfected - the most fun character is now MORE FUN. V is a fun addition (necessarily shallower that the other two since he's built from scratch). Plenty of fanservicey callbacks to the previous titles. Really fun levels, enemies and bosses. Gay cowboy hat. All it needs is the SE with playable Vergil, Lady and Trish and Itsuno can hang up his coat for the rest of time. His work would be done.
(Maybe after he gets Dragon's Dogma 2 out of his system? Or another fighting game? Because he certainly doesn't seem to be interested in it right now.)
"...in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."Oh no, Vergil is going to crash into a van, how ever will he survives such an ordeal?
*Vergil Judgement Cuts the van. It's somehow totally fine, though now stopped
"Shc...wait, what?"
Okay that's official I have an unending hate for mission 8. Fuck that urizen fight at the end.
All the other missions I couldn't S rank were mostly a matter of changing my approach to fighting and focusing on getting hit less. That one, however, even now that I've got the global idea, is still eluding me, sometimes with ridiculous shit like 4957/5000 points, or better, 4990. This one urizen fight really is aggravating. Every other fight you're supposed to lose to him at least gives you actual openings after breaking the crystal to kill him in two cycles tops, one if you know what you're doing. This one ? Nah, break my crystal once, I put it back up immediately, then I only drop my guard for the time to lose about a third of my life. Because fuck you nero, you weren't already suffering enough.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Tried Ragtime Breakage into Showdown/Buster Arm Breakage?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I barely ever use those two ever, especially the buster arm. Gonna give it a shot.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Okay, apparently, I just needed to rant about it here, skip the last batch of skippable ennemies that invariably ends up with me losing style points, and show up with 4400 points or so before the fight to end up with enough to S-rank this mission. Welp.
Well, Now I only need to do this again... In So S... Dm D... and HOH. Oh boy.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."So, today is Eid, a day of recreation after Ramadan and what spells recreation better then sitting around and playing devil May Cry three? I even ordered pizza because I thought it would help with my mood.
Last time I played, I stopped around Gigapede. Now, however, I slaughtered Gigapede and got to Agni and Rudra...where I got slaughtered.
1. So, did you know you can leap onto Gigapede and hit him for massive damage? Because I did not.
At least, not before my health was on my last feet on take No. two and I accidentally got on top of him where I was able to spam Cerberus to finally cheap Gigapede.
It's not exactly the "Boivin Maneuver". However, being cheap is his style so...
2. So, dante's next recourse for opening a locked door after a roundhouse kick did not work...was to try to shoot it.
Oh, that got a laugh from me. I mean, he's not even aiming for a lock or hinge-he's aiming right at the door! You know, with his pistols!
3. So, this is...jester.
...He's...a jester.
4. ...I'm going to ramble about nonsense here that came to me as I was playing: if dark souls and our fair series have a key similarity, it's that they're not meant to be easy so as to increase the satisfaction when you actually ace it.
By the by, I got my first Showtime! ranking in a fight today.
5. Here's a tip: when you're ambushed while elevating to Agni and Rudra, leap away from them mooks and take the shotgun. One shot is enough for them to be sent flying, especially when they're all so close.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.I don't know why this would be unsafe for work, just looks like Dante discussing a contract to me, and I'd tell a boss that.
(Here's the obligatory SMOKIN' SEXY STYLE!)
Some interesting fridge brilliance regarding V and Urizen.
If you take the Greek letter Alpha and turn it upside down, it’s basically a “V”.
And if you turn the letter Omega around, it’s close to an “U” shape.
So I figure that V was the Alpha, and Urizen the Omega in this story.
I suppose that an A looks like an upsidedown V.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! It's occurred to me there were at least two ways they could've ruined this game. The first one isn't from my own brain, but a comment I saw. There was a video that showed all of V's boss finisher animations, and someone in the comments said "a few years ago, all of those would've been quick-time events". That sounds infuriating. One I thought of myself: after Nero's fight with Malphas, he agrees to help V get to Dante's final battle with Urizen. Except for one cutscene where V explains what Urizen really is, we don't see them again until the end of Dante's fight. Imagine if instead, it had become and escort mission: you're playing as Nero, with no sprint or air hike because you're all but carrying V. Every so often you have to stop and put him down to fight not only to clear the way, but you have to actively protect V, who's now too weak to defend himself. If V dies? Non-Standard Game Over. I can only imagine that would've tanked the whole game.
I'll admit her chest size in that image is a lot bigger than what I'd expect from a girl who just turned 18 but, yeah, no way is she even on par with Gloria or DMC 4 Lady.
Edit: what a page topper.
