Moving the contents of Turner Broadcasting System to TBS

As the channel was never referred to as that, rather, it's the name of its owner (the channel's name is a shorthand for WTBS, the callsign of the originating station).

I know, confusing, but should I do the move and potentially have Turner Broadcasting System re-written?

Upon investigation, the channel name does in fact seem to be TBS and it doesn't stand for anything. Turner Broadcasting System is a multimedia company that owns the channel and a number of others including cartoon network. The current page contents should be copied to TBS and the Turner Broadcasting System page should actually be about the Turner Broadcasting System not TBS.

I've moved the page's contents to TBS and left Turner Broadcasting System the way it was; I intend to overhaul it into a page on its owner, or just put it on the Cut List.

It's also been referred to as "The Superstation" enough times for that to be an associated term with the network.

If there are multiple commonly used terms for the network, then making them all redirects is perfectly acceptable. In this case, the initialism is how it's most often referred to, like NBC or CBS.

In this case the initials are the actual name and the "expanded" name is something else entirely. Turner Broadcasting System should not redirect to TBS at all.

I'm thinking about putting it on the Cut List, as it would look stupid to have a page on what is now little more than the unit of Time Warner that oversees most of its television properties (prior to 1996 it was much more than that).

I don't think we do pages on media conglomerates, though. Not now we don't.

Well, we do/did have pages for networks, as indexes for their content and a place for people to bitch about them. Whether TBS qualifies as a "network" is something I have no qualified opinion on.

TBS is a network.

Time Warner and Viacom aren't, though. Would having pages on them be a good idea?

And speaking of bitching, I saw some on the Fox page about the studio "ruining" things, which I was going to kill but The Red Red Kroovy did so already in one of his welcomed edits.

Wow, we have a page on Viacom.

Go and make the page for Time Warner!

Actually, I think they are under Warner Bros.
