So uh, is it physically possible to be a Vice-Admiral and upwards without being a badass? There doesn't really seem to be any evidence what I just said is possible.

As said before the world of One Piece is a very dangerous one. Being a Bad Ass is probably how to get promoted in the first place.
I think I've gone blind from sheer awesome.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.I want to see a Dragon zoan!

True.
Still, I find the concept of the old lady tactician (Tsuru) potentially being able to pummel people to dust very hilarious.

Chapter 555 is out.
....and now the Shichibukai do something! Yikes, Donflamingo cut off Oars' leg! How did he do that?

I draw this comic-like thing sometimes.Yeah, hopefully we finally get an answer about Donflamingo's powers. It's clearly a lot more generalized than just People Puppets.
So, is Oars, Jr. going to be the first person to die in this series?
I heard a theory that Donflamingo's power may be more like a "string-string" fruit. He can attach invisible strings to people and manipulate them, or he can create a monowire filament that can cut stuff.
Feedback Of Heteronormative Gender Stereotypes in AnimeYeah, i just read about string theory on the One Piece wiki. Makes sense.
I draw this comic-like thing sometimes.Doflamingo is pretty badass.
Considering this, the fact that Sengoku made Don back down at that big meeting is pretty impressive.

Once again, another good chapter. Boa Hancock is staying true to her nature, she doesn't give a damn who she's attacking. The Shichibukai aren't kidding around (well, except maybe Doflamingo) so I wonder if Whitebeard's forces have anything else up their sleeves.
I like how WB and Sengoku are still standing in their respective spots.
I think that's hinting at something.

I couldn't help but note the continued Worf effect in play with Little Oars, Jr. Three Warlords brought him down fast, where his ancestor took the entire Straw Hat crew and then some to defeat. Granted, the situations aren't quite the same, but if Junior has anything close to the power his ancestor wielded it's still quite a feat.
His ancestor? I don't recall. :/
Aww, I guess you can skip the Skypeia arc. Personally I enjoyed it. Kalgara and Norland made me wibble like a little girl... and when I found out itty bitty Norla was the huge-ass giant snake who ate Luffy... I became a true Oda fan. Not as impressive as Jimbei being mentioned 450 chapters before actually showing up, but a true oh snap moment.

New chapter! So Donflamingo's a moral relativist. Who'da thunk it? ....and did Sengoku just threaten to personally kick Garp's arse?
I draw this comic-like thing sometimes. So, Sengoku is known as "The Strategist".
He's clearly powerful what with him being a Admiral in the past and having Whitebeard's respect, although I'm not sure if he's really stronger than the current Admirals or Garp.

It's very interesting that Vice-Admiral Garp is known as the Pirate King's nemesis instead of former Admiral Sengoku...may be an indication of Sengoku's relative strength.
AND LUFFY'S BACK! WOO!
But Sengoku was a Admiral. And I wouldn't say Garp is beyond Admiral level.
Didn't Tsuru also have the title of "Strategist?" Is it possibly an honorary title/position type of thing? Top strategist to the Fleet Admiral.
Tsuru's title is "The Tactician".
Is One Piece actually good? For some reason, I found the anime that aired in America kind of annoying...I got bored and stopped watching it after a few episodes. Would I like the manga? Or not?
The manga is by far better than the anime (the dub, at least). I'd definitely reccommend it.
I want to see a unicorn Zoan now.
