And I'm sorry if you're offended but...I don't really know how else to word it? Nobody is calling you inhuman or anything. But it's been proven by history and the like that society has evolved to this point by supporting each other and pairing off. It's literally how life continues to move on...

You never specified gay people, I just added "opposite sex" to what you said to make a point about how that excludes certain groups.

Anyway, I'd rather not dwell on this, my intention was just to make a snarky comment but then people started getting defensive.

I mean, it wasn't sarcastic, I honestly believe that, it's just it wasn't supposed to be a whole conversation.

If the new character is a female protagonist, then the Kamoshida arc may have to be re-written, and besides Ryuji, Yusuke, and Mishima all the male Confidants are too old (or young in Shinya's case, and evil in Akechi's case.)

They did that with P 3 P, but that might not be feasible with Persona 5.

I really don't think most casual fans would be very happy with a switch to simplistic, Visual Novel-esque visual design.

Especially considering the stylishness of the visuals is one of this game's selling points.

I never said anything about a different design. Just that a female protagonist would have to have a different take on Kamoshida and that there aren't many romance options for her.

If it's like Persona 4: a new female character, a Social Link with her, a more in-depth Social Link with Akechi, a bonus level, and some comic relief fluff.

Well that would require pandering to the women but they've since made it clear they are only interested into pandering to the straight guys.

I'm reminded of when they said that instance of man on man love in I think Persona 2 was just to pander to the Yaoi fangirls.

That was literally the only reason why they'd consider making Yusuke romancable until going "Nah lets keep our focus on the boys."

So to them a homosexual romance would be strictly for the yaoi girls.

And yet Satomi was the most adamant about the pairing itself and how much they like each other. But he was not working for Atlus by that interview so I guess it wins out!
