Having actual detective skills =/= whitewashing.
Watch SymphogearI hope they do add Akechi cuz then I can just sit back and watch everyone tear themselves apart about him.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.the Discourse surrounding him has always been rather overblown.
Its almost like his actions are so heinous people in real life feel physically hurt by him at times. Like, seriously?
Watch Symphogear
No. I'm not putting up with that just so you can enjoy the suffering of others. No Akechi! No Akechi!
Well, his reception in Japan is very different from his reception in America. I think he works, and I point out that the cast didn't necessarily forgive him (something Haru flat out says), they were just willing to work with him probably due to at least a bit of pity, and also having the same goal (he was stupid strong). A lot of people in the west interpreted this as them being ok with him (which they weren't), and it lit a fire up in the fandom's collective arse.
He's too much trouble, but we're not the ones deciding if he makes it in or not.
Also, in the game, he flat out said he was a complete fraud, using the metaverse to help in his cases, which he himself set up.

One Strip! One Strip! This isn't the first time this has happened. Fandoms take certain things more seriously than they really should and it turns discussions into flame wars over something trivial.
So I just like enjoying the resulting back and forth lol.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I don't get worked up about him like others do but I do not find him sympathetic in the least. He's just as bad, if not worse, than Adachi.
This song needs more love.I wonder if Fe MC is going to be a chooseable protagonist or if she's going to have a unique arc. Interested in how they handle having both her and Male MC.
For Those who Seek the Thrill of Death: A Dramatic SMT3 Hard PlaythroughWell, you better get used to it. He's in the game whether you like it or not.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I don't mind him being in the game so long as he's either an antagonist or the Token Evil Teammate. I just don't want them to ignore or downplay the murders or his general shiftiness.

This song needs more love.Damn.
Well, it can't be helped.
If this is canon again, it has to happen around the time of the Culture Festival for the P5 group as well. Maybe just after he joined the team, but before they raided Sae's palace.
Alternatively, depending on how quickly you reacher her treasure, there's the time in between that and when you head into the Palace (since Akechi insists on waiting until the last moment).
Huh, now that I know he's there, I'm curious as to how they'll pull it off.
One Strip! One Strip!I highly doubt he's going to be antagonist.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. We're told how Akechi solved those cases and that he screwed over innocent people furthering Shido's goal. Going out of the way to add anime only content that legitimizes Akechi's work does come off as whitewashing, not really helped by them also "softening" him to a degree.
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’Rob: The game itself showed Akechi has actual detective skills. Yeah, he set up crimes for himself to solve but he did have some genuine ability.
What's with the spoiler tags? Those are off for P5 by this point aren't they?

Really?
I mean, I admit he's smart (something Makoto herself acknowledged), but I thought a lot of his success (and power) came from two years of learning the Metaverse, with the only things he didn't know being the stuff Morgana told the group that he never got the chance to find out.
Can you provide a clip or a line on that front to confirm it? Maybe I've been selling him short on his actual skills as a detective.
One Strip! One Strip! You're probably right. Hence why I'm apprehensive.

This song needs more love.If you see him actually talking about what he does it comes across as being basically what Naoto does. Yeah, he's cheating a little to boost his reputation, but he's not incompetent. I think the idea behind the character is supposed to be something like 'genius orphan so abused by the system and daddy bwaaaah if he wasn't illegitimate he would have been totally super awesome guys no really.'
I would honestly have some measure of sympathy or well pity really for him if he didn’t act like a completely insane psychopath.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Well, dang. First Leaf appearing in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, now Kotone/Minako is back for Q2? Looks like the non-canon female protagonists are finally being remembered again.
My issue is he mainly provide statements on things he would already know, like when he gives his profile on the P Ts after the sushi bit. Likewise, I don't think we've been given anything about cases Akechi solved that didn't connect back to the Metaverse and the added fact him and Shido's ultimately have the police force and SIU in their back pocket.
They weren't forgotten, it's just that certain people didn't care.

‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’Atlus will piss off her Fandom by Making Fe MC be caught in a stable timeloop where she ends up becoming Nyx, fated to be sealed by Door Kun forever.
Watch SymphogearMan, with both the male and female P3 protagonists in this game, poor Aigis is gonna be all flustered and confused.
"If you are going through hell, keep going." - Winston ChurchillSo long as she doesn't bring up the gayngst again. That was so dumb.
How much you wanna bet Akechi spends the whole game character developing into a non-terrible person before the memory wipe washes it all away?
Shit. You're right.
No Akechi! No Akechi!
Then again, the anime is already claiming he has actual detective skills, so I guess the whitewashing is already starting.
One Strip! One Strip!
