I find the presence of character tropes on both the main page and the character sheet to be redundant. That's just the way I see it, but I think putting character tropes on the character sheets only would make them more interesting and useful, along with making the main page more readable and less intimidating (to the reader and the editor alike).
As-tu rempli ta vie de belles choses ?The former is a nonsense (how does it taking them away from the main page make them better, when no one is claiming they can't also go on the character sheet?), the latter is highly subjective.
Would you kill your best friend, can you save yourself? The Yugioh Abridged Series has examples in folders like A-M and N-Z. And has all its trope namers on the top. Nanoha has shout outs like that too.
Really though if its a charecter trope it should be on the charecter page only if its more than one charecter then so be it its their profile. The only way it should be on the main page is if the charecter doesn't have its own entry or if its a vast majority and a huge thing to the series. IMO

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Ok Dragon Quest Z likes the idea of folders like A-C ect I guess now Negima is using it too.
We seem to have an edit war brewing over if the image should be Left or Right on the page too...

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Only for those pages which are generally felt to be straining at the seams. I may not have spelt out all the caveats in full, every single time, but there should be no need to, not when they're still there to be read. If I really wanted to do what you're accusing me of, I wouldn't have accepted those caveats, let alone stipulated them myself.
Paraphrasing myself, it's not about fixing what isn't broken; it's about having accepted guidelines in place for handling things when they do break. Admittedly, this only affects a small percentage of pages, but they are the very works pages that get read the most - that's why they're so large.
Now, we could keep debating these points forever, but that would get us nowhere. What matters is not who is right, but what the wiki is willing to go along with. Therefore, the second question we should be asking is what proportion of editors would object to moving character tropes off main pages, no matter what.
If the majority would object, or even a sizeable majority, then the idea can be buried. If the majority are OK with it, albeit only in specific cases, we can discuss those case, and see if there's any position the majority can live with.
The first question though, should be whether the majority want to discuss this issue now, or wait until they have no choice, perhaps waiting for edit wars to break out. My opinion should be clear by now, as is that of many others, but what is the majority view?

Cattle die, kinsmen die. You yourself will surely die. Only word-fame dies not, for one who well achieves it.Robert, if a page is near to breaking now, one (or more) of the many ways we already have in place to solve the problem should be used.
Tropes pages can be folderized; split into pages by medium, (or even by work); or be split, either soft-split into "types" or hard split into subtropes.
If it's a work page it can have character, analysis, and recap pages spun off. Character pages can be further split, into major character and minor characters, or Good Guys and Bad Guys, or by series/ season/version of the show (like the Touhou page is now.)
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I say leave character tropes be, unless they become a hassle, in which case go ahead and move them to the character sheet. If someone jumps the gun, that's sad, but it's not a tragedy.
Pretentious quote || In-joke from fandom you've never heard of || Shameless self-promotion || Something weird you'll habituate toNo official word has been made, but some are acting like it's already policy. I just had to revert trope deletions on several of the Street Fighter pages.
Can we please get an official word so we know whether or not this is something to allow?
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Umm, How do you make character sheets again?
Like creating any new article. Look at the work page. Find the portion of the URL that begins with "Main" (or "Film", or whatever). Replace that with "Characters". Edit the resulting page, and voila!
Example: Batman... Characters.Batman
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Same thing happened on the Azumanga Daioh page.
As-tu rempli ta vie de belles choses ?Also, having wicks on both types of pages means the tropes get more attention.
Plus there are the related pages, that get screwed up by this and create false positives on the main pages.

^ The whole point! What's wrong with both? Only in the extreme cases like Naruto/Bleach is there a real need to only have one.
