This is a real trope (often found at the meta level), but it's being used as Administrivia. I say we rewrite this page as a trope and merge the existing content (with a link in a "This Very Wiki" folder) with Proximal Error Probability.

Examples:

• Valve Software. They've made something like 150 updates to Team Fortress 2. In fact, their compulsion for Serial Tweaking is what drove them to create the auto-updating Steam digital distribution platform.
• George Lucas. He's re-released the original Star Wars movies at least three times, and each time he made tweaks to them, ranging from redoing Special Effect Failures where the landspeeder had an obvious miscolored spot underneath where they hid its wheels, to the infamous "Greedo Shot First" Orwellian Retcon that caused so much Fan Backlash it inspired Joss Whedon to create Firefly.
