[up][up]No, I meant that in the sense of clarifying the fact I hadn't caught every single Legendary from Ultra Space, and since I believe USUM has the most obtainable Legendary Pokemon with a catch rate of 3 (SM has 5, USUM has 42), and I thought that was relevant considering some might be burnt out from that experience. I have caught all the Legendary Pokemon in most of the games I own, I'm also missing a few of the Mirage Island ones in ORAS.

I still think when the game isn't throwing that many at you in one game, the low catch rate is fine.

Well, I hope you find a shiny legendary. I await to see if your opinion remains the same.

It is factual bad design, when, having optimized things, the game rewards you with a below 5% chance of getting rewarded.

Just like it is bad design in Pokemon GO, after gathering the people needed for a raid, just failing to catch the raid boss. It is artificial difficulty.

I remember being cheated out of the Raid Ninjask because no matter how much effort and berries was stuffed into it itโ€™d break out i got a regular Nincada thatโ€™ll out level/power that Ninjask anyways but hell if it wasnโ€™t annoying to lose out on that

Try imagining how far the universe extends! Keep thinking about it until you go insane.

I figure this thread has probably already talked about it.

But I just found out about how you can change your DNS settings to connect to wifi on Gen 4/5. And how you can get any Mystery Events you missed.

I suppose its technically not legitimate, but its still pretty cool I could just grab Oak's Letter, the Membership Card and an Azure Flute, since they never came to Australia. Plus I'll also be able to do Silver's story in HGSS, which I was never able to do.

I did just the Gen 5 ones since I couldn't figure out the way to do it for Gen 4. My router may just be too new for that. Since I started Pokemon in Gen 6, I never did anything before then, so even from just getting these Gen 5 events, and activating their specific cutscenes was magical for me.

Couldn't do the Keldeo one, tho, I needed the Musketeer Trio in game to do that when I've already migrated them in White 2 and... apparently not in my White file, I only caught Cobalion, and probably migrated that by now.

... would've been nice to do Gen 4's stuff, I always found those sidequest events neat.

[up]If you have a smartphone with the ability to make a hotspot you can use that. DS games are a little odd with wifi.

My phone has a built in app for it in settings, so I just set it up with no password and it works fine with Gen 4. You just have to remember to turn it off when you're done. It doesn't use much data either.

Its really the sidequest events I care about too. I didn't claim any of the events other than ones required for sidequests.

It'll also be nice once I've done the Platinum ones, going to my second copy of Soul Silver.

I got amazingly lucky a few years ago and found a second copy at a car boot sale for $5, but because it was a few years after it came out, I don't have any events on it.

[up]Doing that burns up Celluar Data doesn't it?

If it's not just you on the plan, that's a bit risky.

Its pretty tiny, I just checked my phone records. I played around with it for maybe 20-25 minutes yesterday and it used 308.1 KB of data.

I did that event cheesing. I now have all the Mythicals aside from Mew, Marshadow, Zeraora, and Meltan/Melmetal.

I think technically I wouldn't need to in order to fill my whole Pokedex, because I got most of the events I was missing in that year where they did one a month at EB Games, so I have at least one of each. Aside from the the newer ones.

But its nice not to need to transfer everything away from earlier gens.

For instance my lvl 100 Pokemon Channel Jirachi in Colosseum.

EDIT: And more importantly these are a viable ongoing option that's not insanely specific.

For instance I own a copy of Pokemon Ranch and Pokemon Channel, so technically I have access to infinite Mew/Jirachi.

But those take a LONG time, plus need a long chain of transfers.

I did get Ranch before the Wii Shop closed, but I lack Diamond or Pearl, so, I need to do that to get me that free Mew.

Anyoone else other than me think 570 is bit low of a BST for most of the ultra beasts?

I think a 50 buff to most of them would be great, maype 30 into their best stat and the rest be used for stats they are lacking in (Like Pheromosa and Kartana's Paper thin defenses).

620 would be nice. Its greater than the both the usual 580 B St trios and the 600 BST Fairys, but still weaker than Box Legends.

Seems like a nice place to put the ultra beasts in, if I do say so myself.

Yup, just you. I don't think their overall stats should be higher since they don't count as Legendary Pokemon, and I feel like you missed the point of most Ultra Beasts being Min-Maxing with severe drawbacks. Others are bitter about Ultra Beast because they think they are "ruining" the competitive scene, which I don't agree with this statement at all. That being said, I don't want to see a Kartana with 211 Attack.

Also, the Tapu also have 570 overall stats.

There's a pretty interesting reason for the Ultra Beasts to have the stats they do, and it hasn't hampered them competitively either. They're fine.

I think all Legendary Pokemon should have a BST of 600, at minimum. I like the idea of Pseudo-Legendaries, but I don't think there should be any Legendaries with lower stats than the Pseudo-Legendaries.

What happens if Silvally has 100 in all its stats?

Answer: Still bad. Not even having any other Ground-type attack is enough to Silvally underwhelming. I would say it should be able to change form by holding a Z-crystal like Arceus, but that might not do Silvally any flavor.

RKS system should be buffed to be pretty much a copy of Multitype, as in Z-crystal and plates affecting it (and Memories should work just like Plates, boosting the power of attacks their type).

Silvally would also benefit from Extremespeed and Recover to begin with.

And the whole deal Ultra Beasts have with prime numbers is good enough. The 570 BST Pokemon utterly changed OU anyway. And one of the ones that made it to Ubers has "only" 540.

I wonder... would it be too broken to have an ability that is basically the move Conversion 2 but functions like Color Change (so if the ability's user is hit by a Dragon type move, the user's type will change to either Fairy or Steel), even if said ability would be exclusive to one line of Pokemon and/or be a hidden ability?

Would irk Choice item users, but just a tad, and wouldn't be broken at all. Changing type that way is not under your control.

Seeing Gen IV OU is roughly Gen VII RU, damn if Staraptor hasn't been doing fine by just keeping afloat.

Also, UU is notoriously ban-happy; I mean, nowadays it has 24 Pokemon; that's half a tier right there. And Staraptor is thus in the same level as Dragonite, Salamence, Gyarados, Manaphy, Weavile, Thundurus, Conkeldurr... Those were OU or Ubers when Staraptor lingered in UUBL.

Staraptor really was the new standard for early bird Pokemon. Only Talonflame really surpassed it's pedigree.

Pidgeot was highly meh until it got a speed boost AND a mega, Fearow was Dodrio but worse, Noctowl got buffed and has a damn fine ability (yet it did nothing to it), Swellow went from fast Faรงade user to Boomburst nuker (and still meh), Pelipper got DRIZZLE to become usable, Unfezant plain sucks, Talonflame got a NERF for good measure, and Toucannon is interesting, yet nowhere near top tier.
