Another interesting thing I saw pointed out elsewhere, the co-director for the movie, Motonori Sakakibara, hasn't worked on Pokemon before, and has almost exclusively worked on CGI movies and cartoons. So this movie might be CGI rather than tradionally animated. Also, the main director, Kunihiko Yuyama, has been the director for every Pokemon movie except last year's Power of Us. It's also then possible that the extra time needed to make a CGI movie is why Yajima directed last year's movie, while Yuyama would have been working on this movie last year as well.

No, Pikaclone while a fan-term is an actual phenomena, so much so that Gen VI references it. To wit, Marill and Mimikyu aren't Pikaclones by virtue that there is already a designated Pikaclone there.
Overrall, it’s an Ultra Ball/Master Ball rating. Ultra Ball for those who want a traditional blockbuster Pokémon movie (aka don’t expect it to be like Mewtwo Strikes Back or Power of One); Master Ball for being a movie first, commercial advertisement second.

i got back to the swing of competitive pokemon in pokemon showdown. Boy USM introduced a bunch of killers huh. Breloom and Gardevoir getting creeped out by the ultra beasts and Tapus is...a particular bummer for me lol. Z-moves are also just a damn "remove pokemon i don't like" button, and I don't know what to feel about that just yet, but it's not unfair I suppose.
I'm as bad at it as ever, but it's still fun.

Well then, more spirit to you. I don't like OU all that much because I always keep getting bouncing over and over again whenever I played it.
Also, I want to use Tectonic Rage Landorus in OU, but there are too many Flying-types.

iirc it's UU and doubles that's the place to be for fun battles isn't it?
on the note of landorus- it is fucking amazing how consistently good landorus-therian has been. Heatran too- despite the disgusting power creep Pokemon has, those fucking pokemon seem to get better with every passing generation. I don't care to use either myself but that is kinda cool.

So I'm on post-game for Let's Go Pikachu, farming candies for some Master Trainers and so I can utterly curbstomp Red with my final team of... a Mewtwo named Ainz, on account of how OP he is and a Nidoking named Jircniv, on account of he's a king who's an inferior of Ainz. 
Then Solomon the (Mega-)Beedrill (it's a Bible reference), Puff the magic Dragonite (Duh) and Dagda the Vaporeon (I just like the name).
Pokemon trained for eventual Master Battles include Stinky the Grimer, Sally the Caterpie, Monty the Mankey and...Diglett the Diglett. Can't rename Alolan pokemon.
