River City Girls is out today, right? I wonder how good it turned out. I'm tempted to order the physical release but I realized I've never really played a game in the genre before and there's no demo to try for myself. Anyone that has it digitally want to voice an opinion?

The final boss and ending for River City Girls have been uploaded. For those who don't want spoilers, don't click this link and untag the spoilers about to be presented afterwards. Usually I don't do this, but I have a couple of things to say;
The final boss is Sabuko, the daughter of Sabu. I really like that!
Also, Kunio and Riki were never kidnapped in the first place, and Misako and Kyoko aren't their girlfriends. Hasebe and Mami are, and Misako and Kyoko are just two crazy Kunio and Riki fangirls. ...I don't like that.

You know I thought the story of a Beam Em' Up wouldn't compel me but now I really regret those spoilers because hoo boy.
I advise you not read them.
...Wow. I guess this is their way of Canon Welding since there’s apparently two branches Kunio-Kun goes in, a Denser and Wackier path and a more serious path where they have different girlfriends.
They seriously retconned the girls as being Kunio and Ricky fan girls? You might as well have revealed they lived in the world of Renegade.

Are these spoilers that are only a big deal if you’re versed in the series? Because this would definitely be the only River City game I’ve played.

I am playing River City Girls and gotta say it might be the best Beat'em'up I've ever played.
I absolutely recommend it to literally everyone.
Combat? Superb. Artsyle? Stellar. Story? Compelling. Voice acting? Top notch.

I love this game's animations and the character variety so much. Feels like you could make every single one of these characters a fighting game character much like Capcom did with the Final Fight cast.
