There was an r/AITAH recently which seems relevant, questioning whether you should be obliged to stay in a relationship when the other person has transitioned, and has become a different person. Is that his demon side talking or something? The white on black speech bubble is weird. Alternately it's just Complains being Complains.
I went back and checked, and his speech bubble also changed when he started the teller ceremony previously, but it was purple for his IME (which still appears to be purple, as of the last time he raged, and this scene is right after that fight).
A new one six days later, that's quick for Ellipsis.
Anyway Complains has accelerated the process!

I love how every move Complains has ever made has just made things worse for himself. Even moves that make things better for other people.

With this transformation he finally fits the description of the winged goblin of prophecy that Duv thought she was.
I think he got the bubble before he grabbed the axe. It was just him initiating official prayer mode.
