I'm on the verge of suicide after a round of terrible anime has made me never want to play video games or watch anime ever again. What games are there where there's no haremshit, no Tsunderes, and a good story?
Uh, Trails in the Sky? (Maybe. There might be a touch of Tsundere, but if there is, it's very minor and not a big deal.) Also, check out Nier, Folklore, and nearly every Shin Megami Tensei game ever made. That should all have you covered for a very long time.
Is your question only limited to anime style art games? Because if you aren't, there's a bazillion games without those "features", I could start with Undertale, Transistor, Bastion, Stories: The Path of Destinies, plus other Action RPG titles and Western RPG titles but I'd be here all day.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! Are there any Youtube videos of those games that are worth watching? I don't have any money to spend on video games.
Alright, I'm going to recommend you one of my favourite L Pers that's done some of those.
First, the Undertale - first run, second run and in progress third run. What makes this one absolutely outstanding is that he had gathered a team to fully voice act the entire game.
And he had also done Stories: The Path of Destinies. Not for 100% collection of all the routes, but enough to get the ending.

I don't really accept L Ps that are just overblown screaming at everything, telling people what you're doing, or just otherwise being commentated over for no other reason than because.
Maybe I'm just spoiled by how good Threadbareinc is...
Well just search for footage of those games we mentioned. If you don't like an LP-ers style, you can always move on to the next.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!A friendly reminder: this is the video game recommendation thread, not the Lets Play recommendation thread.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)I am currently looking for some good strategy games on Steam. I'd like something that's not in real time such as FTL: Faster Than Light or Age of Empires, since I don't really like hectic micromanagement and multitasking of units or game mechanics.
public class Hello World { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Hi, TV Tropes!"); } }I'm not sure if you want turn based tactics or 4x so I named stuff from both genres
How about...
- Banner Saga 1 / 2
- Renowned Explorers: International Society
- Civilization 5 (complete), though 6 is coming out so you may wanna hold off
- Stellaris
- X-Com games
- Delve Deeper (well, kinda sorta)
Hmm. Well, it appears Civilization V is on sale today, so looks like I'll be trying that one first. Thanks!
public class Hello World { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Hi, TV Tropes!"); } }Oh, so you actually wanted more of a tactics game with turn-based combat, not 4x! And for that I need to apologize. You should really have gotten The Banner Saga, though that wasn't on discount right now.
I actually forgot how to play Civ 5, so I hope the people at the Civ thread can help you out.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Nah, it's okay. I have a limited personal budget for entertainment, so I suppose I can wait until The Banner Saga goes on sale. Again, thanks for the recommendations!
public class Hello World { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Hi, TV Tropes!"); } }How about games that have stories that don't exist to connect the gameplay and don't suck?

Legend Of Heroes Trails In The Sky. (You're all going to see this one get recced from me a lot if you haven't already, because it's just that good.) Also, just about every Shin Megami Tensei game. Planescape Torment's also another good one, along with maybe the Metal Gear games.

...Come again?
I built a computer with a a Radeon R9 390, but I feel like the graphics card is kinda going to waste because the games i play don't tend to be graphically impressive. I'm mostly into platformers and music games, but I'll also enjoy roguelites and various colorful, fast-paced, or gameplay-focused action games. I don't care about story, and am looking for a single-player experience. Any suggestions?
So you're looking for something graphically intensive in those categories?
Unfortunately, the likely reason most of those games are "low fi" is because they're all niche non-AAA genres on the PC. If you play FPS, stealth, Western RPG or sports games you'd easily get to test your graphics card to the max.
Looks like your only choice here for platformers is Mirror's Edge Catalyst.
Fast-paced colorful action: Devil May Cry 4, DmC Devil May Cry, Transformers Devasation

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Try out Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and Just Cause (both 2 and 3 are great). Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is amazing for make-your-own-story gameplay.

Yeah, this is pretty much the response I got on Reddit as well. I might get Mirror's Edge Catalyst if it goes on sale. I'll look into Devil May Cry, since I don't know anything about the series. I figured there would be nothing in music or rougelite, but it couldn't hurt to ask.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance looks pretty fun. I get the sense that it's quite different from the Metal Gear series as a whole. Would someone who's not interested in the rest of the series be able to enjoy it?
The only other games that have caught my eye are Tomb Raider and The Witcher 3. How platform-y is Rise of the Tomb Raider? And would someone who doesn't get sucked into stories or characters be able to enjoy The Witcher 3?
Yes it is very different - it ditches the stealth (except for a couple short occasions) and guns and turns into hella spectacular hack and slasher. Most of the series backplot doesn't matter much either, it's a new story in the future of the setting.
If you know nothing about DMC series then #4 and the DmC are good picks - 4 has a new protagonist to start you up with, and the reboot is a reboot.
Reboot Tomb Raider (that is, two last games, Rise is the second one) are more about climbing things and spectacle runs through crashing environs than classic platforming. Although there is still some of the classic platformy puzzles too.

Regarding Witcher (or say, the Fallout / Elder Scrolls series), yep, you'll have to be sucked into the story (or at least exploration) for those. You won't find that much in the way of platforming, and the action might be a bit slow-paced (and RPG-ish) for what you may be looking for.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!Awesome, I'll look into Revengeance some more, and keep DMC 4 on my radar.
Huge fan of the Zelda series, so I can definitely get into the exploration aspect, but the other qualities not so much. It's too bad, I love the idea of a huge gameworld to explore, and the game looks gorgeous. I actually enjoyed Skyrim and Oblivion, but they're also the sort of game I don't need more of.
Try Bastion or Transistor. I'd play the former second, if only because it's a lot more uplifting. Despite taking place after an apocalypse, strangely enough.
