^^Beyond the issue I pointed out with man-punching his girlfriend, you have to remember that the "I AM A MAN" line is for when Linkara is making fun of over the top, forced badassery that ends up being goofy and nonsensical. Using it when he's being serious and attempting to actually sound badass without any silliness would have pulled us out of a dramatic moment.
His pyramid head use was meh. It was kinda wedged in there imo.
Read my stories!I see what you did there.
^^^ I'm pretty sure the line "I am a Power Ranger" made it silly anyway.

The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Yeah, "I am a Power Ranger" is nigh-impossible to pull off seriously, even though the phrase separated from the cheesy kids show does have some merit to it.
Notice the new intro sequence in the latest review. It's basicaly the same as the old one, with new clips (the suit up montage shot in his new apartment, and new funny moments).
I noticed too, now the opening has Kickassia moments.
When All Else Fails, you have fun and flirt wit da ladies, dats da Drawings way!Spider-man: The Greatest Responsibility was the first superhero comic story I read in my life. That's my excuse for thinking superhero comics are horrible by default until I was 17.
Wow, I feel so sorry for you.
My first was Ultimate Spiderman volume one so my view of the universe is slightly skewed.
When All Else Fails, you have fun and flirt wit da ladies, dats da Drawings way!I think mine was an issue of The Beano from 1997. Yeah, much as I love the movies and animated series, I never actually read superhero comics.
It not "skewed", it's not the same universe.

My first was the issue of Amazing Spiderman where he first fights the Reptile. That one gave me a fairly positive view of superhero comics.
Kill all math nerdsMy first one was the one where Spiderman fights Paste Pot PeteThe Trapper.

This is going to bug me all day, but you mean The Lizard, right?
When All Else Fails, you have fun and flirt wit da ladies, dats da Drawings way!Yes, embarassed.
Kill all math nerdsI've only read two comics in my life. Watchmen and The Killing Joke.
But I've always loved the DCAU and the Ninties Spider Man sereis especially Spidey's constant Lampshade Hanging.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing."This is turning into a bad comic book plot." I probably got that wrong.
Close enough. And I loved it when Linkara played that clip.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Well okay, to be honest, Greatest Responsibility isn't atrocious, just like Linkara said, and I kind of have a soft spot for 90s artwork because of this feeling of nostalgia.
The really horrible thing that traumatised me when it came to superhero comics was the X-men magazine I read for one year. 2000, I think. I could go on a essay-esque tangent about how much it sucked, but I don't want to bore people.
A measure of how much I hated it is that I still openly referred to superhero comics as "a cultural plague" in 2007.

I remember my first Spider-Man issue... I think it was the second part of Tempest. All I remember is the last page with a half-headed Kraven threatening Spider-Man.
Looking back on it, knowing what fans know now about that Kraven, I find that particularly chilling, especially with that last narration line: "Then suddenly, your sanity is in question."
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I'll generally pick up paperbacks instead of reading individual issues, but this is mostly because I don't read any current comics.
First Film Brain tweets about TV Tropes, now Lewis does it.
Yay! Linkara to the rescue.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.TV TROPES IS IN TROUBLE!?
TO THE NERDCAVE! AWAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!
It wasn't a matter of "if he would reuse Pyramid Head in Dead/Alive", it was "when and how".
