If you think about it, that name doesn't make any sense: the trope is about something fantastic used for mundane means, but "utility" doesn't imply anything fantastic. It could be called Fantastic Utility, but then that sounds a bit to much like Green Lantern Ring.

I'm okay with the current title.

Mundane Utility found in: 562 articles, excluding discussions.

This title has brought 595 people to the wiki from non-search engine links since 20th FEB '09.

Can you show significant misuse?

I feel that the very fact the entire name is so mundane - so mundane as to sound like People Sit On Chairs - is a tip-off to the fact that the Mundane Utility is a use that's out-of-the-ordinary for the object described.

I think using a fantastic example as the title would work. I just tried to start a YKTTW "Spiderman Delivers Pizza" because of that one scene in Spiderman 2 that becomes a series of pizza delivering bonus missions in the video game, before I realized that was this trope.

[up] That sounds like it's about superheroes having crappy jobs as their secret identities.
