The bad ends are pretty forgiving in terms of any wasted time too.
IIRC there are only 3?note ones where you can waste any substantial amount of time. And one of those is practically impossible to get by accident.
Plus you can just scene skip the stuff you've already seen.
It's 100% worth grabbing a guide and running though the three routes afterwards to get all the missed endings afterwards. I used a guide the first time, and I think it ended up taking me about 4-6 hours to run though all 40, but it's well worth the time.

Yeah, I saw that comment about Emiya Alter on Reddit a few days ago. I even commented on the post because wow. When you take that along with the comments about Detroit, I have to go "what the hell were they thinking". At the very least, ot looks like the NA team wants to soften that particular blow.

While I don't know what the reaction Japan had in this regard, it is easy to forget that there are people calling foul on a bunch of things over in Japan too for different series. We just tend to not hear about it like how I assume they don't hear too much about our reactions.
