Yeah. Probably because Good Masters are more likely to be nice to her or something? I'm not really sure. It's noted to be kind of a point of friction, I think, because it'd be difficult to control her.

And the Extra thing is actually Moon Cell only and it still sucks.

I think they would still have problems. Jack the Ripper is a well known as brutal murderor so anyone on the scale of morality would naturally have reservations against her even if she is a child.

Also funny thing, if Jack's attire is maintained in the anime then she's most definitely gonna be a hit or miss character. For fun & as apart of several discussions I showed Jack to several of my friends and the nearly universal reaction to her pretty much ranges from outright disgust to general uncomfortableness. It's some humorous shit I have experienced, heheh.

Fans of Jack's design bother me more than the design itself. I guess I'm desensitized to the point where I barely notice it.

My issue is that I'm so familiar with Jackie's design, I can't really imagine her in anything else^note Maybe the tattered cloak she has in F/GO stage 1 and/or that white dress shown in Apocrypha, but otherwise

Her knives make an okay skirt in the Apocrypha's anime poster.

Even then it's not like Servants can't ever get a slightly different attire. Off the top of my head Karna has some spikes instead of a cape & Cu has tron-lines or whatever on his suit in the Extraverse.

There is no reason why Jack can't be bothered to wear a pair of shorts at the very least.

That's because Karna, Cu and Medusa were redesigned to be "techy" because they're in a digital world.

Karna uses his mechanical wings outside of the Moon Cell anyway.

I recall reading Karna's spikes were related to graphical stuff about how hard it is to render a cape.

Though how come only Cu & Medusa got the tron-looks? I would have liked to see that on other servants.

I think it was because that Karna's fire cape would have crashed the game because fire of that effect is very resource-intensive, as EXTRA CCC was on the PSP.

Well, other than Shuten-Douji's. That one will never stop burning through your soul.

And I don't know about you, but I don't think even the Joker is insane enough to trust his would-be murderer to ask him/her first if he were in such a situation.

The Joker is smart, a genius, though. Reika is not a terribly and awesomely clever person with a mean streak who's just been allowed control over a man who intended to kill her. It's not out of character for her to want to stress domination over him by getting the information out of him. Even if he starts lying, this weird girl he's just summoned only for her to turn against him will say he's bullshitting Reika anyway.

And I don't believe anybody should ever be put on a pedestal by anybody else in the first place, so I don't mind being a Broken Pedestal.

I really wish Shuten Douji hadn't been a loli. Ibaraki is fine because she's supposed to be childish and even considers Shuten her mom, but with Shuten it just comes off weird.

I don't know, I think I'm more forgiving towards rule of cool than rule of sexy, like a double standard. Edison as Captain Leomon, ridiculously awesome. Jack the Ripper as a loli wearing only a thong for undergarements, fucking lame.

Also speaking of weird designs, I just noticed this recently but Altera has weird shoes. They look like metal jester shoes & kinda clash with the attire. I think she should have went barefoot, I feel it would have been more natural.

Shuten-douji is purple/black, Ibaraki-douji is yellow/black

Ibaraki is the burny one that likes chocolate. Shuten is the naked one that likes getting drunk.

I think I remember commenting that Altera's shoes are actually historically appropriate for some part of her legend or another, but I don't remember the details.

Every time I think about Edison and his unspeakably awful design, I die a little inside.

Regular Edison would probably be a Zoulgen/Agravainface.

It may surprise everyone here to know that I agree with those criticizing the decision to design Shuten-Douji as a loli. Seriously, what the hell, Type-Moon?

Jack at least made sense given the total ambiguity of the real serial killer's identity (within the context of the Nasuverse, that is; I wouldn't believe it if someone told me that the real JTR was actually a kid).

Mary Read could've been handwaved by assuming that her default look (where she's huddled up in a concealing coat) is what everyone in her time saw, and thus allowed her to pass as a really short man... plus some weird influence from modern times being responsible for whatever anachronisms there are in her wardrobe (which could be extended to every other Servant with anachronisms in their appearance, incidentally).

But Shuten Doji being a little girl who dresses so skimply that there's no way she could've passed for a guy and be recorded as such in Japanese history? Hell, even discounting her identity, her design doesn't even look that good for a loli! >_< You know something's really wrong when you deliberately make a conscious decision to design a character to appeal to a certain niche, and yet fail at it... or am I and like-minded people just a tiny minority that is overshadowed by a dumb majority who somehow like this design?

It is. Trust me, I've seen many who obviously look like the character designer was aiming at appealing to the lolicon niche, but failed spectacularly. And I'm discounting examples from artists who already are bad at drawing non-loli characters, too.

Weird seeing Gil getting corrupted in his side story, and it's related to the Proto-Goddess of Vengeance/someone who stole her power.
