Man, this tripe is dull

Harmful to others too since it's squealing about the social limitations placed on people refusing to get vaccinated when there's a motherfucking global plague still out there killing people on an apocalyptically global scale

And there's always the chance of it mutating into an even more deadly and infectious variant, made easier by people not getting vaccinated and potentially acting as viral resevoirs and breeding grounds

Didn't Tats use to have a social conscience?

One of many "I wonder why?" questions I have about Tats ...

Why does he refuse to use dialogue in his color comic pages? They seem to be the ones he reserves for Important Stuff, so why does he run the risk (the risk? the near certainty!) of having his Sacred Message misunderstood by readers?

He didn't always do that. Even a few years after Xanthe came along, there was still dialogue in most Sunday pages.

I know, right?

What has the world come to that some assholes who don't want to get vaccinated or do the simplest things to help stop the spread of a pandemic are portrayed as heroic while everyone else is portrayed like sheep?

There's people who would rather destroy their intestinal tract with horse dewormer than take a simple injection. They'd rather risk dying to a preventable disease than wear a mask or keep some social distance until the pandemic is under control. It fascinates me how humans can be this dense.

If nothing else Sinfest is a great insight into the mind of a person who would think like this. The stupidity is full on display.

It is distressingly common for people with generally progressive ideas in their youth to lose much of their compassion, turning insular and bitter. Then again, how genuine Tats' social conscience was is also up for interpretation. The more I find out about him, such as his college-era version of Sinefest, the more he strikes me as the type of guy who would only make lip-service about social justice causes, in an attempt to get laid.

Honestly this sums up Tat's problem. He keeps hammering the same nail over and over and over and over.

Honestly, I would not have anything against Slick taking over the resistance. It's not like he'd do any worse than the morons of the Sisterhood or their new redneck buddies. He'd also be a more accurate representation of Tats' effect on real-life issues.

I just joined Reddit just so I could upvote and cancel them out.

To what, Slick? To the EEEEVIL vaccines? That are already proven to be near 100% effective by actual science? FFS, seatbelts and helmets don’t ensure a 100% survival rate from accidents either, but we don’t see people protesting against them.

What next, Slick meets the Sisterhood and they band together, marking the first time a Degenerate Male™️ is accepted as an ally?

(Or even worse, he meets ‘Nique, they actually come back together and make peace after all this time and unite against vaccination. Wouldn’t THAT be the ultimate “Monkey’s Paw”?)

P.S.: Another possibility: Slick forms the OG Resistance with Squig and Criminy, referencing the very first strips.

One small problem: turning Criminy of all people into an anti-vaxxer would be the most OOC thing ever. Almost as bad as turning OG ‘Nique into a TERF.

At this point the Resisty from Invader Zim is probably more effective.

My hunch is that Slick will hatch some sort of plan that fails and leaves him in jeopardy, and then the Sisterhood will have to save his ass.

But ... the Sisterhood hasn't been seen for a while, and apparently is in disarray — Nana has closed up shop, Xanthe is in Wxmxn's Prisxn, Tess and Violet were last seen in the junkyard, and there's no telling where Clio is. Tats may be phasing out the Sisterhood or retconning that they were Satan's tools all along (as implied by the slogans on clothing that the prisoners are sewing).

So who knows?

Some of them towed away whats'erface's truck after it crashed.

Eggmaster People definitely still protest helmet laws, although maybe not in mobs in front of state capitols.

So ... Grand Theft Auto?

Also ... My sister-in-law's life was saved by a guy who refused to wear a motorcycle helmet. He may have saved other people's lives as well.

I'm guessing that the burgers are some type of rightwing-conspiracy symbol for broad masses of unthinking sheeple, which makes me think of the Q Anon-Shaman's obsession with healthy living and such.

So I am a few day late here (talking about the Sunday comic), but following Sinfest has kind of become a chore lately due to relentless same-iness.

On top of the anti-vax stuff, it really strikes me who the face of the enemy are becoming. The zombies still exist, and liberals/queer people are still foot soldiers. But who is on the blimps? Who is truly pushing all of this?

Women. Increasingly, Tatsuya is flatly presenting the enemy as just... women.

He does have recent form for depicting Woke Women as the enemy
