Is this what Tats demands from men to better themselves? Apologize to every woman you've ever looked at if you watched porn?

I'm imagining there are some more practical and logical impossibilities required before men are considered "marginally better than dirt".

I think you guys are going a bit overboard with the criticism, here. This story arc is actually pretty good, especially compared to the usual hamfisted fare we get from Tats. It's a lot better than the Sisterhood bashing us over the head with it, that's for sure.

Tats is still falling into his usual traps here though. Chief among them beong busting Squig's chops while he's actually trying to conform to Tat's twisted standards.

And that's not even getting into what he's basically saying about the porno industry as a whole, and the people who consume porn.

Just because it's not as hamfisted as the Sisterhood doesn't mean it's not still hamfisted as crap.

Hey, Fuschia remember when Seymour was judgmental when you were turning over a new leaf. You shouldn't be so hard on Squig, when you were helping torture damned souls under the Devil's dime.

I think that Tats painted himself into a corner. Logically, this should have been Slick trying to get rid of his porn, not Squig. But Tats burned too many bridges with the Slick/Sleaze thing, and he made Sleaze too powerful while reducing Slick to a nonentity. So Squig was drafted for the job, even though Sudden Woke Syndrome doesn't really suit him.

Personally, I wish it had been Slick, because a confrontation between him and Wossername could have led to some interesting dialogue and maybe even a respectful relationship. (But that would have been a "cis-het" relationship, and such perversions of morality are not permitted in Festerville.)

Can't help yourself can ya Tats? You did the same thing with the party arc. You remember? The arc that SHOULD'VE been about Lil'E discovering more about his origins and who he was, but instead you had Tangie hog the spotlight when it wasn't focused on the Red Stringed duo?

You just can't let your male characters experience their own growth or character development, no. It always has to com back to the ladies in some form or another.

So, after all that, Squig gets shunted off to the side while Sad Sally takes center stage, posing to show that she's a sewper-strong womyn. This was supposed to be Squig's moment, a major character development where he was trying to turn over a new leaf. But we couldn't have that, could we? No, we needed it to be all about her, a character who still has no name but since she is a woman, every and all allowances must be made for her.

Mmmmm,

This strip was pasasble. The art is superior to the storytelling but this isn't bad on the storytelling front

Overlord 347 & Metalix have both clearly stated above what is also my problem with the strip, when taken in context with the storyline, but I'll still give it a "meh, whatever" rating.

I'd give it higher but the prior months of dross, twisted viewpoints and deranged soapboxing have affected my sense of amity towards Tats. I suspect I'm not the only one on this forum

I'm not sure if I like Squig being reduced to a plot delivery device for the empowerment of a currently minor side character

Loads of half naked ladies drawn in sexual poses while anviling against porn...again....

Anyone else wondering if Tats gets off on the feeling of taking Rad Fem dollahs to draw mild Ecchi?

Got to love Tat's sense of movement and pose though. It's the one thing he always seems to get right

Yeah, Tats can't help but let his female characters steal the spotlight in the name of so-called empowerment. This is supposed to be Squig's moment, and it's ruined by Sad Sally, who could have gotten her own moment and didn't need to steal his thunder.

Actually, destroying the porn that features YOU, personally, getting exploited, is pretty empowering. And I don't mind that she has a moment here, too.

I'm getting the feeling that Nameless Sad Prostitute Girl starred in an awful lot of movies if you see the amount she manages to grab from the bag in a single try.

It really sickens me how Tats made Squig go from recovering porn addict to implied rapist. Nobody gives a shit about him any more, all attention is going to NSPG.

I don't think Tats says anywhere that Squig is an implied rapist. I don't think that is what he is going for here.

Handled properly, this story line could be used to address the ethics of porn consumption, which is certainly a thing that should be discussed. The point is not that Squig is a rapist somehow (and I don't think the comic actually supports that view at all), but that he consumes porn indiscriminately, without thinking about how those porn actresses are actually treated.

For the discussion: I'm referring to this comic. I keep saying implied rapist, but you could also say implied sex offender or something.

Tats isn't discussing the ethics of porn consumption, he's implicitly labelling a victim and an offender.

This is what he always does. He doesn't offer multiple viewpoints for discussion or consideration, even when the subject material really calls for it.

He just calls a right side and a wrong side and proceeds to call the wrong side stinky, ugly and dumb while painting the good side as all cool and empowered and stuff.

Remember when he "settled" the debate between second and third wave feminism? Tats only needs two comics to say everything that needs to be said! Third wave feminsim? More like third wave misogyny! That is the entire spectrum of Tats's capability to argue a point in 8 panels.

Don't get me wrong, a lot of what Tats writes about is interesting to discuss and consider, just not in the way Tats is doing it. It's poison.

With each passing day, I await the collapse. Of what I care not. Perhaps the collapse of whatever warped form of feminism Tats follows, leaving him alone. the collapse of his fan base, leaving him irrelevant? Just in general i want him to actually pay for all this shit he is spewing. I think it's possible that this is the result of Executive Meddling: Tats is being "corrected" in mid-arc by his Significant Other.
