I like using Cryonis to cross rivers and such faster, but yeah, aside from that, it doesn't really get much use in Bot W
I remember thinking at the time that it was really niche. You'd never be surprised by needing it in a shrine and it didn't interact with the other abilities nearly as much.
The most niche tears ability is probably Assent, but that changes how you view navigating anything and anywhere.
I use Ascent a lot more than I thought I would. It's really useful for exploring caves.
Song of the SirensIts the forgotten most useful power...
Even useful on some bosses and people just forget it exists.
Thunderblight Ganon is a lot easier with a level 3 Shock Resistance buff, either from rubber armor or a meal/potion. It makes you completely immune to electric damage, so you only have to worry about its sword attacks and guardian beam.
Cryonis is kinda still in TotK, since using ice attacks on water creates a small platform (that can be manipulated with Ultrahand to make longer ice bridges or vehicles). An ice weapon or even just throwing ice fruit gets that job done.
In general, the abilities is TotK have a lot more synergy. Fuse stands alone, but there's a combo between Ultrahand and Recall: hold something in the air for like 10 seconds with Ultrahand, climb on top of it, then Recall. Instant boost. This breaks so many shrines it's honestly kinda silly. Combine that with the Instant Scaffold schema for Autobuild, and you can throw Ascend into the mix to make it even better.
And yeah, after I'd finished the game and ended my media blackout, I saw people fighting bosses in ways I hadn't thought of, like pulling the blocks out of Flux Constructs using Ultrahand, which insta-stuns it if you pull out its core, damaging Colgera by skydiving through its weakpoints, and getting on top of Marbled Gohma using Ascend; does that also work on Talus's?

A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.It works best for Battle Talus I think since regular Taluses have the rock placed in a really awkward position this time around imo.
Secret SignatureI keep trying to progress to Zora's domain but there are just so many sidequests and shrines to do.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I have that problem too. Keep setting a goal I want to accomplish, but then on the way I think "Oh wait, but I want to do this first..."
Yeah, I've had this game for a longer time and most of my time is doing random shit that makes me happy.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Yes, you can use Ascend on Taluses. Did not even think to try using it on Gohma, though.
Song of the SirensI did progress through the storyy at a pretty steady pace, but now that the final battle is the only thing left there I just keep doing other stuff even though I am probably ready to take it on.
Probably will get to it only after I found every single shrine in the game.
I've only mainly used Ascend on Battle Tallus's, also on the large Constructs.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I love Gerudo weapons. Can I go back to the temple underneath the north ruins to re-supply anytime there's been a Blood Moon?
I think so? The gems don't respawn, but the weapons might.
Worth checking, at least
Song of the SirensI'm still in effing Central Hyrule. If this plot was timed, Hyrule would be obliterated 200 times over due to my play style.
-Witty line-You're no help.
Just kidding. I'll be the help!
...Uh, doesn't look like they have. Checked against the Gerudo Spear next to the sand seal rental in Gerudo Town, and that one has respawned, so I'm gonna guess these ones specifically don't.
People are saying that the Scimitar of the Seven is the best weapon in the game, because it provides the massive bonus of the Gerudo weapons without having a base power that's total ass (and actually has some durability). The only other real contender is the Lightscale Trident, because it has the bonus of Zora weapons (both the base and the fusion power double when the user is wet), and by the time you can get it you have Sidon's oath, which can make you wet at any time. The downside is that it's a spear, so you can't use it with a shield, but you also get way more attacks from a flurry rush with it so...
And the Master Sword I suppose. Since the attack value is hidden this time around, I'm not sure how that one works.

A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.Speaking of, I need to find some Zora Spears for it. All the duping I did meant I never have to worry about materials but it doesn't really change that my load out is full of crap.
Burning love!I think the stats for the Master Sword is the same as BOTW (30 dmg w/o Malice/Gloom, 60 with).
I believe it was three unimplemented dungeons, and I think they were two more sages (probably Fire Mountain and Ice Ring Isle being full dungeons instead of mini-dungeons) and one for finding the Triforce of Courage.
I actually think the whole "Greatfish Isle gets destroyed before you can reach it, and you just get the pearl without doing a dungeon" thing was intended from the start, because the Tower of the Gods itself serves as the third and final dungeon of the game's first act, and is even partially a water-themed dungeon to boot.
Ignoring Forsaken Fortress, which is a bit unconventional as far as dungeons go, that would even make the game have a similar three-five split like Ocarina of Time had.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I could believe that, Wind Waker lacking an ice dungeon is obvious. A fire dungeon might be stepping on Dragon Roost's tors but it wouldn't be the first time that a Zelda game had two dungeons with lava.
I had a hard time thinking up an additional sage, let alone thinking up two. My guess is that your younger mister might be a sage (it's not like she does much in the second half of the game) but I'm stumped beyond that.
@Anura re (miniboss tactics)ultrahand vs flux construct: You can't ultrahand the core directly. You just need to pull out a bunch of other blocks until it loses stability and falls apart.
Alright, time to tackle the next dungeon.
TOK: Before you do that, here's some wacky fashion side quests.
I can't believe I'm invested in Hateno's election campaign.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I have literally done it myself. It resists, and you have to wiggle a bit, but it works.

The new abilities in Tot K made me realize how Crynosis hit This Looks Like a Job for Aquaman levels of usage. It was so useless in 3 of the 4 main regions, with two of them being literally impossible to use in.
