So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

Cid's swearing was so cartoonish, like the writers were dealing with an adult material quota and had an opening for more swearing. Barret's was bad. Cid's was eye rolling.

Okay haven’t seen the trailer but I have a theory that Jack just curbstomps WOL and the others and decides to strike a deal with Bahamut to toughen them up for the next cycle.

A lot of the classes rip things like attack animations from XIV, Samurai and Monk are the most noticeable.
That new Evoker class there is essentially a Scholar but summoning an elemental that you see in XIV 1.0 and in Eureka instead of the Fairy.
I dont have a problem with it at all, gives XIV a bit more exposure.

That's quite a lot of content for a DLC that's just one of three. Guess that depends on the price, though. The addition of the alternate job trees seems massive, I hope it delivers. I hear this game didn't exactly wow anyone with its sales, but the EGS exclusivity deal was enough for it to cover its development costs and it may eventually see an uptick in sales if/when that moratorium expires and a Definitive Edition with all the DLC ships for Steam, it's happened before.

Nah, but they wouldn't go through that much effort. And I doubt they'd copy-paste Jack's since they're... Y'now... His deal. In fact I expect Jack will jump in to do them when you're fighting a boss.
