Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

The thing is, Rikku's default outfit is the Thief. It's the one we see in every cutscene with her.

Disgusted, but not surprisedIf you were using the Mascot outfits it would have made the cutscenes way more amusing.
Disgusted, but not surprised"More midriff! MORE!"
Wait, we're talking about ten-two now? I never played it.
Also known as the Dead Rising school of video game cutscenes.
I believe FFXIII-2 and LR had this as well for Xbox and PC versions. LR has more silly costumes for Lightning, though. XIII-2 mostly reserved the silly stuff for Mog and the monsters.
Cutscenes recognize silly outfits in all versions of FFXV I do believe.
All versions of XIII-2, LR*, and XV recognize whatever outfit was equipped in all but pre-rendered cutscenes, yeah.
*There is one instance in LR of the story demanding you equip the Midnight Mauve schemata to continue, so the relevant cutscene will always have Lightning wearing that, barring modding.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/Theyif anyone was suppose to be Auron's illegitimate daughter... Paine would have made the most sense. but she's too old
It bothers me that Auron is only 35.
Also Balthier being 22. He is a baby.
"Old, battle-hardened veteran" starts at around 18 in JRPG land.
Y'shtola is like our only female party member over 25 that isn't some long lived thing and its a running gag that she lies about her age
Although Rosa at least is a thirty something year old by the time of The After Years I guess isn't she?
Oh I've gone on about the ridiculous age range of FF ladies in the past.
If they made a game where every single woman was in their mid-twenties all of them would still be older than the oldest female FF party member.
Hey now, Fang looks absolutely bangin' for a woman in her 1,000s
Also Fran is upwards of 50 but who knows how Viera age.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyDo we forget Edea? She was a party member for a bit and she must be middle-aged like Cid.
And Sorceresses do age like human beings apparently.
But yeah, after her, you'll take Lulu being the wie old woman at 22 and like it.
If we're talking temporary and guest party members, then we've got Unei from FF III who is an old lady.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI did say that isn't a long lived thing like Fran or Fang.
Also I think Viera live like 300 years or so in XIV so its probably the similar for XII.

I wouldn't call Maganai 99% of guys. Just a very very desperate guy who asks every girl he meets if she is the moon to his sun.
There was that one guy in Heavensward too and Runar in Shadowbringers. The latter though is heavily ramped up in the English translation, leading to contention with players.
I mean, considering what life in Spira is like, I wouldn't be surprised at 22 being considered as over the hill.
Song of the SirensBetween the restless dead being recycled into man-eating monsters, the occasional out of control killer machina, and the rampaging nigh invincible flying doom whale that refuses to stay dead for long (Braska's Calm only lasted less than a year)...yeah, the average lifespan might be 30 or less.
Disgusted, but not surprisedSo...apparently Yen Press licensed that novel series called Memory of Heroes, which retells the first three games in prose form, and it'll be released in March 2020.
Sounds neat if nothing else. I'm always curious what III adaptations do, since a lot of retellings make their own cast.
JRPG ages are just something you have to headcanon away as a matter of course.
Most of Rikku's designs were fine, except for the Thief. Everyone's thief designs were terrible tbh, even Paine's.
If you compare dressphere to dressphere, Paine typically has the most revealing outfit of the trio oddly.
