Artificial Atmospheric Actions is an odd article. You can get from the title that it's about immersive AI in videogames, where NPCs do things not relevant to mechanics or plot but make them look alive, but not so much that it's about these efforts failing. Even the description isn't that clear; it feels written with the assumption that of course any such attempts at atmosphere will fail.

I checked a few wicks, and about half are describing atmospheric actions, with no indication that it's failing. So I'm thinking it should go through TRS at some point. My vote would be remove the "failing at it part", wouldn't even have to change the title, and move some of the more noticeable examples to Good Bad Bugs.

However, the reason I'm making this thread is for a more immediate question: this is an audience reaction, so shouldn't it be YMMV? I know we had a thread for deciding YMMV that was separate from TRS, though I can't find it now, but I also ask myself if it is worth changing all the examples to the YMMV tab if a TRS decision might later change it back to an objective trope.

Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.
