Gonna talk about a leak thing so all you people scared about that beware I really love how Sidon’s Fiancé just goes and says that Link and Sidon are Best Friends.
Oh I'm terrified how the fanbase will react...
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. What's wrong in being besties?
You can't kill art.Do you not know how many people simp for the fish?
A tweet with some screenshots I don't think we've seen before.
TotK has horse armour in it, and Link appears to be wearing a samurai-style helmet.
Ukrainian Red CrossAll of those screenshots are from trailer 3. And the horse is wearing the Knight's Saddle and Knight's Bridle, from Breath of the Wild.
New developer interview on Tears of the Kingdom. They talk at length about the decision to set the new game in the same world.
As we near the approach of the game's release, I think we should all refresh our memory on Zelda lore as the fandom had seen it for over six years, and prepare ourselves for major revisions and recontext of the Zelda canon.
This game will upend the Zelda Timeline in such a manner that the meaning of canon would need to be broaden, namely focusing on how Japan handles canon in general.
On the plus side, it would also remove a lot of annoying misconceptions regarding Ganondorf and Demise.

I'm glad Teba is now the chief.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.I can't believe Its not Butter.

Watch SymphogearPart 3 of the interview is up. They talk about how cliffsides that were bare in Breath of the Wild now have caves for the player to discover, how it was difficult to make the Sky Islands visible enough, how the sound designers needed a clear distinction of where the sky started, and finally, dungeons.
[Everyone liked that.]
So this ad is going around my RSS feeds and apparently social media as well.
There are two readings. One is that it shows the positive effects video games can have, as the man experiences joy and excitement in Tears of the Kingdom, and this translates to more happiness and colour in his real life. The other is that it paints a horrific picture of middle age as bland and joyless, where the only relief comes in the form of corporate products.
The two readings are not mutually exclusive. Speaking for myself, Breath of the Wild helped me process and come to terms with clinical depression, so I'm decidedly in the former camp.
Ukrainian Red CrossWoe is me to be cursed with knowledge. So many fans are so excited over the mention of the Imprisoning War from Aonuma in that interview, thinking it'll tell us where BOTW and TOTK are going to be placed in Zelda Timeline...
And I'm just internally screaming "If only you knew what they actually meant by Imprisoning War."
Final two parts of the interview are up. They discuss the ins and outs of developing Ultrahand and Fuse and trying to make sure the player knows what they can do and the results satisfying.
Aonuma: There was some talk about them among the development team. The direction of giving players the freedom to do anything in this game came about precisely because of the reactions of people who played the last game.
Takizawa: Even though it's been six years since the last title was released, many fans still post drawings, comments, and videos on social media. Especially when the team is facing difficulties during development, these things light up the eyes of our staff and make them think, "Alright, let's show 'em what we've got!". I really want to thank all our fans.
Fujibayashi: I totally agree. Our fans have motivated us so much in the development of this game. Thank you so much!
Everyone: (Gives a big nod)
There's going to be a Treehouse livestream this evening leading up to the game's launch. They've confirmed that they won't show any of the story. But I've decided that I don't want to see anyone else's gameplay of TotK before playing it myself, so I'll be ducking out of this thread now. See you all in June.
I think I feel more attached to the Age of Calamity cast than the Breath of the Wild cast. I hope that game at least gets an acknowledgement.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.I heard that TOTK didn't really do much to reference its own predecessor. All the Sheikah tech and shrines are gone without explanation and apparently, Zelda doesn't openly make the connection that Ganondorf is the source of Calamity Ganon. Heck, even Malice itself is replaced with a rather generic term Gloom (which honestly doesn't sound frightening at all). TOTK is essentially more of a sequel remake than an actual sequel. Think Super Metroid to the original Metroid.
Was hoping I'd luck out with the usual shipping shenanigans, but I guess not - Walmart just messaged me that my copy shipped only just now, and will probably arrive on the 17th. SO DON'T SPOIL ME, GUYS

Well that's nearly impossible since this thread says "Contains Spoilers"
Honestly not the shipping issues I thought would pop up here.
Bleye knows Sabers.I think of the 3 initial shrine abilities, Ascend is my favorite. It's a rare mechanic to see as usually video games keep the two components (sudden vertical movement and permeation) separate, so to see them go hand in hand is interesting.
Plus, Link looks more than a little funny half sticking out of the floor.
Hahahahaahah.........
Heck, the intro even shows why SS can't take place in this setting despite the talk of people from the sky.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. You say as if this series wasn't infamous for some of the worst Continuity Snarls in video game history.
Let us remember that Ocarina of Time was meant to be a prequel to A Link to the Past until Nintendo decided they wanted Link and Zelda to get their own piece of the Triforce and have their own happy ending. And thus Ganon, who in A Link to the Past had the whole Triforce at his hand when he got sealed away, ends up being sealed with only the Triforce of Power at hand.
Yeah, ever wonder where the Downfall Timeline came from? That's the reason.
So it ain't surprising that Skyward Sword is render "non-canon" in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
Do they explain how Ganondorf became the Calamity?

Tears of the Kingdom launch party livestream hosted at Nintendo NY store with four Treehouse gameplay segments starts at 9:45 EDT on May 11th.
