, there's also how the popularity of anime/manga can differ depending on what country you're in. There's anime/manga that took off in Japan but barely made an impact in the west, and vice versa. Unless it's a globally popular franchise like Dragon Ball or Pokémon, judging how "obscure" or what part of a life cycle anime/manga is (especially on this site since it's site is filled with English speakers) is a fool's errand.
