Interest
I can do it. For the sake of my master and seonbae…Tentatively interested, though I'm not sure about adding another RP to be in on my plate of things going on currently. However, even if I'm not joining, I did think of something to ask that may be of benefit to those who would be joining.
Your opening post explains the world, but not so much the premise of the game itself. Is it just meant to be like, slice of life game but with a fantastical setting, or is there actually going to be a driving plot hook? Even if it is just like slice of life, something that would draw the player characters together for interaction with each other would probably help with engagement, I think.
You are reading this.Dangit, I knew I was forgetting to post something. Forgive me, I've been sick. I had like 10 paragraphs of setting details written up and I was trying to condense it down to make it snappier, and I guess I cut out some important stuff.
There is an overarching plot hook, and it ties back into "protecting the Dreamscape from those who would seek to do harm." Not very Dreamwalker uses their powers responsibly. Those that don't are called Darkdreamers. They have the same awakened dream selves as player characters, but use their powers for wickedness, to act out, or to take advantage of others.
Think of them as 'supervillains' to the Dreamwalkers' 'superheroes,' though I was trying to avoid using the term superhero/supervillain even though I didn't know any other alternative.
There will also be more dangerous threats than the Darkdreamers, but explaining them is probably borderline spoiler territory.

Well, it seems that there's a good amount of interest in this game now. Go ahead and start working on character signup sheets, and I'll look them over once they're done!
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.Name: Roan Leblanc
Age: 13
Real Appearance: A young (boy? girl?) with soft brown hair and green eyes. Usually wears a pink hoodie.
Dream Self: Thanks to their powers, Roan's Dream Self is whatever they feel like at the time, which can change from moment to moment. Their true Dream Self is something they don't show to anyone: a humanoid creature covered in ever-shifting silver masks that reflects the world around it. The way they move seems to be affected by the situation and Roan's mood.
Dream Powers - Shapeshifting: Roan can change what they look like pretty much at will. These changes let them turn into other people, animals, and even plants and objects. If Roan can picture it in their head, they can turn into it. Appropriate clothes and equipment can be generated, but there seems to be a limit on what counts as 'appropriate'.
Personality: At first glance, Roan is an extremely empathic person and social person, able to accurately read people's moods almost instinctively and befriend people easily. Anyone who gets close to them, however, eventually notices that Roan never tells other people how they feel or what their opinions are. Instead, they tend to go along with the flow or get dragged along with other people's emotions. Internally, Roan feels like they're nothing but a reflection of those around them, that there's nothing to them aside from what they reflect in other people.
Backstory: Roan and their sister Stella were too young to remember the day their parents died. Almost their whole life, they've been raised by their loving grandparents. At school, Roan has a lot of close friends. Though no one but Stella and their grandparents are close enough to get Roan's identity issues. Stella and Roan grew up to be inseperable
The day Stella died was also the day Roan Dream Walked for the first time. They needed an escape. To get away from all the adults saying their 'I'm sorries' and from their grieving grandparents. They needed to be alone, to find themselves and figure out what Roan feels about all of this.
And so they slept, they slept and found themselves in the Dreamscape for the first time.
Everyone's just doing the best that they can.Looks good! I think this is a very interesting character.
Roan Leblanc is Accepted!
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.Name: Ethrie Kurumochi
Age: 13
Real Appearance: Short white hair that covers one eye, red eyes, snow-white skin. She often wears a light blue hoodie, white pants, and light pink sneakers.
Dream Self: A young light-skinned woman with spiky brown hair and blue-green eyes. She wears a black trench coat and yellow shoes.
Dream Powers: Elemental Magic - Ethrie can cast Fire, Water, Air, and Healing magic -, Psychic Communication.
Personality: Most would say just... stoic. Unnervingly stoic. Hardly ever speaks, or even acknowledges that someone is speaking to her. Except to her close friends in the Dream World, where she vents all her frustration and general feelings.
Backstory: Her family knew something was wrong with her since the beginning.
She didn’t speak until age 5, never cried or demanded food, and was reading chapter books in first grade.
When she started school, she was horrendously bullied for her strange appearance and even stranger intellect. She didn’t seem to react, but sobbed behind closed doors.
Her family didn’t help matters. Her dad was an alcoholic who would attempt to ‘beat the strangeness out of her’, her mom would call her a freak and lock her in her room, and her brother and his girlfriend were delinquents who used her as their punching bag. One day, her brother brought home a video game: Kingdom Hearts. She watched him play through the crack in the living room door and fell in love with the game.
During the late nights when her family was asleep, she would sneak into the living room and play Kingdom Hearts. Every time her brother bought the next game, she’d play it in secret. It was the one thing that brought her joy.
One day, she came home after a particularly bad day at school (the older boys had spent the entire day beating her up), and mentally sobbed, wishing she could be as brave as Sora, as kind as Kairi, as fierce as Riku. That was the night she entered the Dream World for the first time.

@Naja Nerd 66: As I said in the OP, a character's dream self isn't necessarily their ideal self. It's a metaphor for their self-image, personality, wishes and concerns, and isn't a wish-fulfilling fantasy self. A dream self is deeper than just "me, except with powers from a video game I like".
As well, the dream powers just list "summon a Keyblade and everything that entails" without going into detail. For those who haven't played Kingdom Hearts, this tells us nothing about what Ethrie is capable of. I'm not particularly familiar with Kingdom Hearts, but I know that those who wield Keyblades have widely varied magical abilities.
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.Okay, I’ll edit it. I was pretty tired when I wrote this. Although what I finished with probably isn’t any better...
(Her deepest wish is to be normal, and besides everyone who bullies her, Kingdom Hearts is the only basis for normal she has, so it manifested as something related to the game. But I’ll change it if you don’t like it)

Yeah, I would still prefer it be more original than simply a 1-to-1 adaptation of an existing property. There can be inspiration, of course, but the Dreamscape is more than just a pop culture fantasy world.
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.There. I was inspired, but it’s not as obvious.

I don't think you're understanding what I'm asking. It's the keyblade I have an issue with, not your character's appearance. I said that I don't want your character to 1-to-1 have powers from some kind of media, which includes Kingdom Hearts and its Keyblades.
Please alter your character's power set to make it something different, and I will consider your character.

Welcome to the Dreamscape, a realm of human subconsciousness.
Created by the dreams, thoughts, desires and fears of the collective humanity, the Dreamscape exists in parallel to the 'real' world that humans inhabit.
The Dreamscape is a realm of belief and human thought. As such, the Dreamscape collects mental 'data' from humans and manifests them. Particularly fervent groups of humans can even start to shape the fabric of the Dreamscape itself, and entire kingdoms have been founded around these groups. The position of these kingdoms changes from moment to moment, and it is impossible to make a coherent map of the Dreamscape due to its fluid nature, but a Dreamwalker travelling to one of these kingdoms will reach it at some point by some manner. Distance has little meaning within the Dreamscape.
Humans can only travel to the Dreamscape via sleep, and the vast majority of humans barely realize they travel there, often immediately forgetting their visit as soon as they wake up. Some certain individuals, called Dreamwalkers, are able to retain their memories of the Dreamscape, and not only that, but can harness the power of dreams to awaken their inner selves.
These inner "dream selves" often take forms that reflect one's self-image, personality, wishes and concerns. Becoming a dream self grants a person great power, which they can either use responsibly, or otherwise. Those responsible Dreamwalkers are entrusted to become guardians of dreams, to protect the Dreamscape from those who would seek to do harm.
Hello, everyone! This is an interest check for a new game I'm wanting to run. It's a fantasy game called Into the Dreamscape. In this game, players will play "Dreamwalkers"— people from our modern-day Earth who manifest their dreams within a fantasy dream realm known as the Dreamscape. Those pure of heart and good of intentions become guardians of dreams and are given magical power. Players become protectors of the Dreamscape to help others, maintain the stability of the Dreamscape, and stop those who would use their powers for wickedness (as well as deeper, darker threats lurking in the sea of mists...).
The rules are simple: All TV Tropes forum rules apply. Don't be a jerk, have fun. I want this to be relatively light-hearted given that most of the PCs are going to be younger characters, but that doesn't mean that dark things won't happen in the RP. Dreams include nightmares too, after all.
